Feature Request: support for port number detection

Hello,

With 25 docker containers on 1 IP-address, the list of suggested usernames becomes rather long. Could the url detection please be extended to include the portnumber? The autofill configuration option works great with a reverse proxy that exposes subdomains but it seems that portnumbers are ignored.

Thanks.

  • Hi @George1pw, thanks for reaching out!

I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble with autofill suggestions. Can you clarify if you've already tried changing the Autofill Behavior setting for items containing an IP address and port number to "Only fill on this exact domain"?

This should result in suggestions only appearing if they match the specific hostname and port.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks. I did try that but it seems to ignore the portnumber if there is nu sublink after the domainname. I'll try it again.

  • @George1pw,

On behalf of David, you're welcome. To confirm, have you adjusted the Autofill behaviour rule to Only fill on this exact domain for all Login items that contain a different port number? If you are still experiencing issues, please provide an example URL so I can test the behaviour.

    Hello guys,

I did and I think it works as you intended but not as I would like it to work. :)

    We now have three options:

    • fill anywhere on this website
    • only fill on this exact domain
    • never fill on this website

I would like to see this changed in:

    • fill anywhere on this url
    • fill anywhere on this url + portnumber
    • only fill on this exact url
    • never fill on this url

The confusion for me sits in the definition of "a website". A website in your definition is a url. A website in my definition is a url + a portnumber. This portnumber can be implicit (80 or 443) or explicit.

I love 1Password for the developers options (ssh) and the Linux support. I realize that what I ask is irrelevant for most users but it would be very handy for people who run 25 websites on one domain name.

I apologize for not making myself clear in the initial post.

    Kind regards.

  • @George1pw,

Thank you for your reply. You should be able to see the exact Login suggestion from 1Password in the browser based on the URL+port using the Only fill on this exact domain Autofill behaviour rule. This option has to be set for all Login items that contain the same domain but a different port.

Here are two screenshots for reference:

Autofill behaviour rule in the Login item:

    Demonstrating the Login item suggestions:

Additionally, a conflict arises when the Login item includes two website URLs, and the autofill behaviour is configured for only one of them. Here's a short video demonstrating this conflict -> https://share.cleanshot.com/nq32drZp.

    I hope that helps.

    Hi Evon,

I took some time to properly look into it and I have narrowed it down to 1Password on iOS.
The behavior is as you described when using the Safari plugin. However, when using "cached" passwords that appear just above the keyboard, it goes wrong. 1pw or ios (not sure) suggests a password, I press on the key next to suggestion, 1pw authenticates (face recognition) and then everything goes haywire. At this moment, the app simply "hangs" and I need to close it before I'm able to continue. In the past, it suggested all account names whatever the autofill behavior settings. If you have an email address, I can send a video.

    Kind regards, George.
