1Password Browser Extension no longer Integrated with 1Password App
Hi team,
At some point about 1 month ago, my 1Password extensions on the browser (both Chrome and Vivaldi) stopped being integrated with my 1Password application.
Even if I'm signed in on the app, I will have to manually sign in each time on the browser extension.
I found the following discussions on the 1Password forum which appear to have the same issue. However, after following the troubleshooting steps mentioned in both discussions, the issue still remains. I tried the following:
- Un installing and re-installing the browser extension. Once that failed I attempted the below:
Troubleshoot - 1
1. Completely turn off your Mac and then turn it on to restart it. (Don't skip this step.)
2. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
3. Choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Touch ID & Password.
4. Turn off all of the features, then turn all of them back on again.
5. Go back to 1Password and choose 1Password > Settings from the menu bar.
6. Click the Security icon, then turn on "Touch ID".
7. Lock 1Password by choosing 1Password > Lock from the menu bar.
8. Now try unlocking 1Password using Touch ID.
Troubleshoot - 2
1. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings.
2. Under General, disable "Integrate with 1Password app".
3. Fully quit 1Password app and browser.
4. Restart the 1Password app and then open your browser.
5. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings.
6. Under General, re-enable "Integrate with 1Password app".
7. Test things out with the extension, are you then able to unlock with Touch ID?
Troubleshoot - 3
1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
2. Click on 1Password next to the in the menu bar.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click Browser.
5. Turn "Connect with 1Password in the browser" off.
6. Turn "Connect with 1Password in the browser" back on.
TouchID no longer working for Mac in Chrome or Safari
Touch ID no longer available/working in Chrome extension

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password in the browser and app integration. Thank you for sharing what you've tried so far. As a next step, I recommend that you update your version of macOS to the latest version (15.2) since it appears that you're running an older version:
After updating and restarting your Mac try to reproduce the issue again. If you still see the issue then try this in both Chrome and Vivaldi:
- Open your browser.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" off.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" back on.
If that still doesn't work then do you see a green dot in the browser settings page? Or a different coloured dot and an error message?

I've updated to Sequoia 15.2 (24C101). This didn't fix the issue. However, thank you for pointing out the green dot in the browser settings. I noticed that the dot was yellow and it stated "Integration status: Disconnected"
I decided to uninstall my 1Password Mac client. I noticed I had 2 different installs. One was simply titled "1Password" and the other titled "1Password 06.45.43 AM". I deleted both and installed the client again, and this fixed the issue! The dot is now green and "Integration status: Connected"
