Wi-Fi Sync
Hi. I am using 1Password 4.0 on a Mac. I want to sync my passwords to my iOS device. I do not want to use iCloud or Dropbox.
I am trying to use Wifi sync for the first time. When I do Windows > Wi-Fi Sync, a window appears asking me to go to my iOS device and select Settings > Sync > Wi-Fi to begin syncing, then to enter a "secret" code.
I am using 1Password 4.2.7 on my iPad. When I go to Settings > Sync, I do not see a Wi-Fi option. I only see options for iCloud, DropBox and File Sharing. I have iCloud and DropBox turned off, and File Sharing turned on. When I press Sync Now, a sync appears to take place, but I am not prompted to enter the the secret code.
Can you explain in a little more detail how to set up and use wifi sync? Thanks

You can't :(
Not until Agile actually updates 1P v4 (iOS) to add support for WiFi sync (in beta, no ETA yet).
1P v4 (OS X) supports WiFi sync, 1P v4 (iOS) does not (until the next update).
1P v4 (iOS) supports USB sync, 1P v4 (OS X) does not.
So, unless you are willing to wait an unknown length of time, your only sync options are Dropbox or iCloud :(
This was not made clear when 1P v4 (OS X) was initially released...

If you want to risk it, you could apply for the iOS beta for WiFi sync:
I started a thread last week about the WiFi sync issue:

We submitted 1Password 4.3 for iOS for review. This version will have the Wi-Fi sync option available.

Thank you Tez and roustem. I did not realize there was no non-cloud syncing solution at present ...

Hi roustem - do you mean that you submitted iOS 4.3 to Apple for inclusion in the Appel App store? If yes, then it should be available imminently, correct?

@pomme4moi, my understanding from other posts here is that, yes, 4.3 for iOS has been submitted to Apple so, all being well, it should soon appear as an update on your iOS device.

My understanding is that Wi-Fi sync will not support attachments. So be careful about that.

Hi guys,
@pomme4moi, the 4.3 should be available now. We've submitted 4.3.1 already with a few more additional fixes to the Wi-Fi sync.
My understanding is that Wi-Fi sync will not support attachments. So be careful about that.
That's correct. We do plan to implement it in a future free update to 1Password 4 for iOS.
