Can 1Password 4 for Mac sync to 1Password for Windows via DropBox?
Hi --
I finally got a Mac laptop and just purchased 1Password 4 for Mac and have been trying to get it to sync with my Windows PC. If I create a new entry in 1Password 4 for Mac, it does not show up in the windows version, and vice versa. I think this may be because I installed the Windows version quite a while ago but wasn't using it.
- My Windows 1Password has an existing vault, with an existing master key.
- My Windows 1Password vault is stored in a subdirectory on DropBox, e.g.
~/DropBox/myfiles/commonsettings/1Password.agilekeychain
- When I installed 1Password 4 on my new Mac, I loaded in my LastPass files into a new vault, after which I turned on DropBox sync.
- The new 1Password 4 app on my Mac has been configured to sync to Dropbox, but it doesn't show me where it stores its information
- I can find a single
1Password.agilekeychain
directory in my DropBox folder, which appears to be for the old Windows vault. - I don't see a "Sync" option in the windows app so I'm not actually sure if it is synching vs just storing data in DropBox.
- I can't use the "Choose Another" button in the Windows general preferences pane because I can't find the 1Password vault on DropBox that the Mac version appears to be using.
- I've read this and have confirmed that I do not see a
1Password.agilekeychain
directory in my DropBox root (i.e. AFAICT 1Password 4 did not create a new directory there when I turned on synching). - I've also confirmed that there is no
1Password.agilekeychain
directory in~DropBox/Apps/
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Ramon

Hi Ramon,
It should tell you in the Sync area. Open the main 1Password app, go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Sync. Can you tell me what you see there or provide a screenshot for us?
Here's a screenshot on my Mac showing the path to my data file:
