Chrome extension does not obey the timeout setting

I have seen that a similar issue has been reported for 1Password on Windows.

Chrome extension works correctly in all respects, except that it remains accessible (no unlock password requested) well past the 3 minutes timeout set in the 1password application.

I like the app and extension overall, but this is obviously a security issue that needs fixing.

My details:

  • 1Password: 3.8.21 (build 32009)
  • Chrome: 32.0.1700.102
  • Chrome extension: 3.9.21.90

Settings:

  • Autolock after 3 minutes
  • Lock when sleeping
  • Lock when screen saver is activated

    Hi @franco,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with 1Password lately! Unfortunately, I'm not able to recreate this scenario - the extension seems to lock after 3 minutes of computer inactivity, as set.

Could you take a screenshot of your lock settings? There are instructions on how to take a screenshot here: http://take-a-screenshot.org/. You can save the image to a service like Dropbox or Droplr and include a link in your reply.

I also just want to confirm that you are seeing this after a period of inactivity. 1Password will not lock if you continue to use the computer, even if 1Password itself is not in use.

Thanks for your patience as we work to sort this out :)
