Problems with Desktop app

I just got 1password, and I've had issues with the desktop app. First of all, the chrome extension button "Launch 1password app" does not work. Second, the app doesn't update with the passwords I've added from the extensions.

@biglarge Something is blocking the (WebSockets-based) communications between the 1Password helper and the 1Password extension in your web browser. Probably a firewall or anti-virus "solution". Please follow these steps:
