Reverting to 1 Password 3

I recently upgraded to MacOS Mavericks and was able to upgrade to 1password4 which I love. Unfortunately Mavericks has devastated my computers performance, so much that I plan to use Time machine and go back to the old OS. Does this present any problems with my 1Password data file (Kept on Dropbox)? If so, what can I do to make my datafile work with the legacy version of the software? Thanks.

    Hi @TrevorS,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble with Mavericks. Since your datafile is stored in Dropbox, you should be able to get set up with 1Password 3 easily. Please note that since custom fields and Favourites are new features to 1Password 4, they will not show up in 1Password 3. They will remain intact in the entry though, until you make an edit to this entry in 1Password 3.

Now, since you're restoring to a Time Machine backup, we want to be sure that we backup your 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox - we don't want that data to get over-written with an older version.

Please save your 1Password.agilekeychain file to a removable USB drive before rolling your computer back to the earlier OS.

If you need to reinstall 1Password 3 for Mac, you can download a copy from our legacy downloads page.

Once your computer is set up, you can copy the 1Password.agilekeychain back into its home in Dropbox, and then double-click to open this file in 1Password 3.

I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions!
