Logins are only filled and submitted when tab is active in Chrome

I remember that a couple years ago I could click multiple login items in 1P with Chrome and they would each open individual new tabs and filll and submit their respective login information. Now I can still spawn the new tabs, but the login information is not filled or submitted until I make each tab active one at a time. Is there any way to have them actually fill and submit even when not being viewed? Thanks!

Unfortunately, there isn't an option to do this. The tab must be active when the extension process the script to modify the data. It is likely due to security reasons, you wouldn't want the random extensions doing things in the background without your attention.
