Autofill ING Bank failure [fixed in 4.2.4 beta extension]
Hello 1 Password,
I cannot log in anymore with my autofill on the ING banking site (see link), manually copy in there is no problem.
Als after I use the 1password workaround: fill manually >not submit > save (as/new) log out and try to log back.
Making a new login in 1Password does not help, neither saving the information as an existing login. This problem pops up in different Mac browsers.
(Workaround on his thread: Keypad [1Password can't read the data here on some bank sites, must be entered manually)
This problem occurs with all the ING-accounts just recently.
https://mijn.ing.nl/internetbankieren/SesamLoginServlet
I hope you can help me to solve this problem.

Dear 1 Password. I have the same issue since some time. The user name is filled, the password not. I have 4 ING logins. When I create a new login (the workaround) and trash the old one, the autofill does work for some logins 1 or 2 times (it also fills the password) but it stops again after. For others it also doesn't work after the workaround. Random results. I use Firefox 30.0 and OS 10.8.5. I contacted ING internet desk and according to their information nothing was changed there. Thanks, Geert

I have the same issue with both my ING accounts! I get a message that not all the fields are filled in.
Indeed, the above mentioned workaround works 1 or 2 times, but then... it doesn't work anymore ;(
1Password, I hope you can help us!!1Password 4.4.2-beta-3, OSX10.9.3, Firefox 30.0, Chrome 35.0.1916.153

Hi everyone,
After some testing here on the ING website it does appear 1Password is having problem filling it, like you've described, and I've reported the issue to our extension developers. In the meantime, you'll have to copy and paste the login information from the main 1Password application or 1Password mini. I apologize for the inconvenience of this.

When I try to login in on my banking website (https://mijn.ing.nl/internetbankieren/SesamLoginServlet) 1Password no longer fills in the password field. I did a little investigation and it seems that the website is using a random name for the ID en NAME tags of the password field. Can this behaviour explain why 1password does not fill the password field and can it be fixed (by looking at the label name for example)?

Hi Marco,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with ING right now. I've done some testing here, and it seems that 1Password can fill the password field here. Let's try this:
- Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
- Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
- Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
- Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
- Select Save new login.
- Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
- Click Save.
- Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.
Our filling gurus are currently looking some potential filling issues here, so do let me know if you're still seeing strange behaviour after re-saving the Login.

Hi Megan,
Thank you for your quick reply. I tried the steps you mention but unfortunately it does not work. Only the username is filled correctly and the password field is left blank.
I just did a search on the 1password forum (actually I should have done that before posting a new thread ;-)) and found a similar thread discussing this problem: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/133514

Hi Marco,
I'm glad you found this thread - somehow I missed it on my initial run-through as well! I've merged your post with the existing discussion, just so we can keep everything in one place. I'm sorry that my steps didn't get things working for you, but as I mentioned above, our developers are on the case, and we'll get this sorted out just as soon as we can!
For now, the solution is to copy and paste your information. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on this thread. Good the hear your team is working on it.

Also having this issue (I guess everybody). It seems that the username and password get random id's every time the form is loaded, I suppose in an attempt to block hacks. Would it be possible to modify the extension so it can take educated guesses? Basically the non-masked field is the username and the masked field is the password.

Hi Marco and @rdouma,
The random id differences you've both mentioned can be seen in web form details of Login items saved on the same page at different times, e.g.:
There's also an unlabeled field being saved with a password type that sometimes gets designated as the password (with the key icon) like in that second image.
Thanks for bringing this up. I'm sure it's useful information for our extension developers when updating 1Password to handle logins for this site. :)

@sjk Maybe you can use the label as a last resort to determine to correct field (must be language aware, e.g. "password" in dutch is "wachtwoord".

Hi Marco,
I've passed along your idea to the developers - thanks!

Great to see the 1P community and 1P guys (&girls) taking our local (?) problems so seriously.
The workaround Megan suggest does not work indeed, only 1 time.Hope a solution wille be found soon. It is most Dutch people's nr 1 used site.
FYI: I have similar problems with BinckBank. Another Dutch bank.
After years of no problem with 1P.
It turned out they updated the site and stopped supporting the international standard of login & filling.
After contacting their helpdesk their reaction was basically f*** off and that they don't support 3rd party software anyway.
Just plain arrogance, because why not? No reason not to is there.Great to see 1P, with millions of users, giving more effort than a smaller arrogant broker making the big bucks.

Hey Agile Developers.
Here is a suggestion on how to handle this. When recording a new entry you could check to see if a div wraps the field and is assigned a ID. If so record that ID along with the field ID and use it as a backup. If you want to go even farther (but probably more work) is to check if their is a label inside the div and use that as well.
When all that fails... there should be a easy way to insert the credentials into the fields by simply right clicking on the field, selecting 1Password from the menu which has the following submenu items which are entries based on the site that matches the URL in 1Password.
1Password
-- Login ID 1
-- Login ID 2
---- Username
---- Password
---- Address
-- Login ID 3When you select a item it inserts it into the field.
Cheers

Thanks for your suggestion of how to handle this issue, Jason. I've passed it along to the developers, too. :)

Hi, being another 1Password and Dutch ING user, I'm having the exact same problem for some days now. I just didn't have the time to investigate the problem earlier. I will probably just be lurking to hear updates. Thanks for picking this up, because it's probably the bank with the most users (private and business) in the Netherlands: about 8.9 million accounts on a population of 17 million people.

Hi @laptopleon,
Some good news, from 1Password 4 Browser Extension Release Notes for 4.2.4.BETA-2:
- Fill Login now works on https://mijn.ing.nl. {OPX-196}
Anyone can try that beta build of the extension now or wait a bit longer for the stable 4.2.4 update. :)
Note: Download links on that Extension Release Notes page will not work. To install the beta extension, open the 1Password 4 Browser Extension in your browser and click Enable betas before clicking the big green
Install
button there:0 -
Nice, I'll install it right away.

Sounds good, @laptopleon. Any feedback is appreciated. :)
One thing to note: the checkbox field will not be filled. A fix for that will come in a later update.

Does it work for Safari too? I can't seem to install the beta browser extension. If I click the 'Install Extensions' button in the pref pane, Safari opens the Apple Safari extensions page..
From the instruction on agilebits.com on installing beta browser extensions:
You can also opt in to individual browser extension betas from within 1Password as well.
Click the “Install Extensions” button on the Browsers preference pane
On the resulting page, check the box to “Allow beta extensions”Edit: There seems to be a problem with the Beta browser extensions page you linked to. If I click the latest download link, Chrome says the page is no longer available, might be temporarily shut down or permanently moved to another place.

OK, thanks, that worked (opening the browser extension page, enabling and downloading beta extension for Safari, installing it. For a moment I had my doubts, because there is no confirmation and you can't tell from looking at the Safari preferences / extensions window. However, if you try to delete it, it says 'Are you sure you want to uninstall the extension “1Password (beta)”?' – so it worked.
However, after installing the beta extension, I could not log into this forum again. Although I must say that I'm on a different machine now, I am absolutely sure that I logged in with the same login (that I keep in 1Password and have not changed lately) a few hours ago, just like I tried to now. My 1Password database is in sync because the items I changed this afternoon are updated on this machine as well. It's even weirder: I can't log in with Safari, even if I type in my login manually.
Even after resetting my password I couldn't get in(!) so now I'm using a different browser (Firefox, without 1Password extension) to comment. Really strange. Tried emptying the cache, but it didn't matter. Any idea's?

Hi @laptopleon,
I'm glad you've been making some progress with the beta extension. After downloading it, you should have seen a window like this to confirm the installation:
It's similar with any Safari extension installation that I'm aware of; seems peculiar you wouldn't see that. Also unusual you're having login trouble on this forum, even when a manual entering credentials (bypassing 1Password).
Which version of Safari are you running? I'm wondering if you may have accidentally downloaded/installed the Safari 7.1 Seed 1 Developer preview that temporarily appeared unintentionally in App Store and it's responsible for this misbehavior.

L.S.,
Since the update to extension version 4.2.3 I am having an issue loging into the ing.nl site: the password is not filled. Recreating the login works as long as Firefox is not restarted, once Firefox is restarted the issue reoccurs. I am on OSX 10.9.4, I am using 1Password Version 4.4.1 (441006) Mac App Store, Firefox 31betaX, 1Password Extension 4.2.3. Same issue in Chrome 35 and Safari 7.0.5. Any ideas how to solve this?

As @sjk says in his comment above, this issue has been resolved in the 4.2.4 beta extension. You can try it out now if you'd like, but we're hoping to release the stable version soon!
Thanks for your patience. :)

Megan,
Thanks for the quick reply, should have made sure there was not already a thread, sorry. Have installed 4.2.4beta2, and it works like a charm.

I'm not using Safari a develope preview of Safari, I'm using 7.0.5 from the regular installation / updates.
I found out why I couldn't log in though, I had changed the cookies settings, but not to the right setting, but to not accept any cookies… BTW I didn't know that it's impossible to log in to discussions.agilebits.com or ing.nl without cookies..
I can now log into ING.nl again, with the beta. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

Good catch, @laptopleon!
Since 1Password doesn't use cookies I'll sometimes forget them being a possible factor in other issues, like you were having, mentioned here on the forum. :)
