Autofill ING Bank failure [fixed in 4.2.4 beta extension]

@Jason Miller we're hopefully going to fix issues you're having soon (well, relatively soon). It's not a very easy fix as looking up the ID of a parent can be very error prone and might break other websites.
For ING.nl can you try creating the login from 1Password app? Simple username+password forms that change their HTML names would probably work better created from the main app then saving from the webpage
Thanks

Guys
I' am not able to install the 1Password-4.2.4.BETA-2.$EXTENSION_TYPE in Chrome or Firefox.Trying to install the 1Password-4.2.4.b2.safariextz (as provided by sjk) gives an error notification in Safari.
However the extension was installed ok.I' am able to login into ING with Safari.
You guys rock all the way to the (ING) bank!!
Thnx!
Paulus

Hi @Paulus,
Download links on the 1Password 4 Browser Extension Release Notes page will not work. That's now mentioned in post #19, with instructions for installing the beta extension from the 1Password 4 Browser Extension page.
If you see that error notification window in Safari when installing/updating the 1Password extension, restart Safari to clear it and then retry installing/updating the extension.
I hope that helps get it rocking for you! :)

Just installed the beta and the ING site is working again. Thanks!

That's great to hear, Marco! Thanks for letting us know the beta extension and ING site are playing nicely together. :)

I also installed the 1Password (beta) 4.2.5.b1 to fix the ING problem and this worked fine, but how will updates be handled from now on? I mean: How will I know when this ING fix is implemented in the stable version? I suppose it's advisable to use the stable version again, once it's updated with this fix?

Hi @laptopleon,
Extensions always update silently in browsers, but you can keep an eye on this page for release notes for stable and beta versions.

Hi @laptopleon,
As it says on the 1Password 4 Browser Extension Release Notes page that @chrisdj referred to, with Show betas enabled:
This first 4.2.5 beta is identical to the 4.2.4 stable release.
If you'd still like the fix for the ING problem and not use beta versions of the extension, you can uninstall 4.2.5.BETA-1 and install 4.2.4 instead.

Two questions related to this issue:
1) Is this fix now in the stable version? Because I still have this problem today in Safari (Mac OS X 10.9.5, plugin 1Password 4.2.4)
2) How is this related to the iOS apps? Because I also have this same problem in the apps (iPad/iPhone, iOS 8.0.2, 1Password 5.0.1)
Just to make sure, my problem is that if I let 1Password autofill in Safari, the entered password is incorrect, if I copy/paste from 1Password, the password is correct.

Version 4.2.4 is still the current version of the 1Password extension. I've just tested with a freshly created Login here, and it seems to behave properly for both Mac and iOS. Let's try this:
- Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
- Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
- Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
- Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
- Select Save new login.
- Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
- Click Save.
- Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.
If that doesn't work, could you let us know the site's address so we can test it?

I have no idea why, but that worked! Thanks!

That's great, @divinenanny!
On behalf of @Megan, you're welcome. Thanks for letting us know it's working for you now. :)

Same issue occurs again with the site of (Dutch) ING-bank. I am on Version 5.1.BETA-19 (510019) (Mac).
Hope it can be fixed again!0 -
Hi @jon@han, which version of the browser extension are you on? Our beta extension has some revamped fill code that we're working bugs out of yet (as one does in beta). If you are on the beta extension (4.3), you may consider removing that and re-downloading the stable extension (4.2.5).

Hello 1password,
I have a problem using firefox to login on the website of my bank. This item was described before in, Autofill ING Bank failure [fixed in 4.2.4 beta extension].
I run firefox 34.0.5 with the 4.3.0b2 extension. My mac runs os X 10.10.2 (14C81h) beta.
With safari I don't have the problem. Safari login is working perfectly. Can you make a fix for it??0 -
Hi @kokkie, welcome to the forums! I merged your message into this thread (the one you mentioned) since it sounds like the same issue, and we received another report of a problem yesterday.
As suggested by @chrisdj, you can try removing the beta extension from Firefox and reinstall the stable release of the extension, which is 4.2.5. (If you need more specific steps to do that, please let us know.) Does that make any difference for that site & Login item? If it's still a problem, please let us know the exact URL from your Login item so we can test that here. Thanks!

Hi Drew, yes it solved the problem, I've installed the 4.2.5 and it fixed the issue. Thanks, but still some work to do for you in the beta extension.

Hi @kokkie Thank you for letting us know the stable extension resolved this
