Chrome 37 finally enables DirectWrite for Hi Def text (Beta for now)

This is good news for all of us trying to read passcodes. Firefox had this in 2011.

    I thought the text rendering looked a little strange in that screenshot. Then I saw the word "Windows" in the headline. :)

    I hope you don't mind, @wkleem, but I moved your post to the Windows category. Great news for Chrome users!

    @Khad, Chome 37 now has a 64bit stable browser. I am unsure if the 32/64bit addressing makes any difference.

  • This is great news indeed. Many of us wanted this in Chrome for a long time. No more blurry text in browser windows on hi-res displays.

    The 1Password extension is fully 64 bit compatible, but the extension's UI is being governed by Windows components, which is why the changes in Chrome have no effect on it.

    We're trying to improve on this, you can be sure about that :)
