Why Does My Chrome 1Password Extension Look Like This?

I had 1Password installed before I upgraded my SSD. This doesn't look like how it used to. How can I change it back? I may have been using 1Password 3 before, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for any help.

Yeah, that is the new v4 menu. The old v1 menu was all handled by the browser extension. The new one is only triggered by the extension but is generated by the helper app that runs in the systray.

If you really must stick with the old version you can get it here:

I'd really recommend sticking with v4 though.

  • Hi @DannySwish,

As Richard said, this is the new native interface we're using now with 1Password 4.

Instead of being a part of the browser, the extension menus are powered natively by 1Password Helper, part of the main 1Password program. This allows us to provide a quicker experience as the extension no longer handles the UI and it doesn't have to store a local copy of your 1Password data in the extension database. This means that the extension has a much simpler job and it prevents the databases on both sides from getting out of sync with each other. In addition, it's also the same UI for all browsers including IE.

Version 3.9 1 Password was more user friendly. I uninstalled version 4 It is ugly and difficult to use :(. Please make it better.

We're sorry you don't care for the newer, more stable extensions, @T__D.

Remember that beauty and ease of use are in the eye of the beholder/user. That said, we continue working to improve the user experience, and we hope you continue using 1Password!

Thanks so much for the feedback!
