Key Button in Chrome has stopped working

in Chrome press the key and nothing happens
have rebooted, tried it on single monitor - nothing
Ctrl \ still works - but no URL listed
Been working fine for months - Latest version of Chrome - 4.0.1.503 of 1Password - Win 8.1
Not sure what i have changed - removed the extension and re-instated it (download...)
any thoughts what to try?
