Feature Request: Touch ID Unlock for 1Password Mac

Hi Guys, Now that Apple has made Touch ID available to devs, Would it be possible to use Touch ID on an iPhone connected to a Mac to unlock 1Password for Mac?

You're certainly not the first person to ask and I've already passed your thoughts along to our developers. Apple is certainly doing some neat things with iPhone/iPad and Mac integration in iOS 8 and Yosemite … it's exciting to watch where it's heading! :)

I'd love to unlock 1password / 1P extension on Mac with TouchID too.

I've tested Clef plugin for wordpress, it's cool for some websites but I'd rather have my favorite app everywhere.

Also, I'm using FingerKey to unlock my Mac and it's awesome! It would be great to have 1password unlock my Mac.

I think it's worth repeating here something that @MikeT has mentioned:

Keep in mind that on the desktops, we do not keep your master password anywhere. Without a secure storage to keep your master password, there is no way to authorize you on the desktop, even with Touch ID in place. Touch ID is merely an authentication process, it's not an authorization process.

It is not likely we will ever send your master password over the air just to accommodate this feature, it must be local only and never leave your device.

Since I use both 1Password on the Mac and iPhone and my iPhone has a TouchID, is there an extension or other API that you can use to enable a person the option to unlock 1Password on the Mac by TouchID on the iPhone, perhaps while running 1Password?

Thank you for writing up and sharing those detailed instructions for how you're unlocking 1Password on a Mac using Touch ID on an iOS device. Looks like an elaborately successful accomplishment. :)

I do encourage anyone who's interested in trying this to read at least all the notes under "Concerns (security related and others)" before getting started. It's important to understanding where the security vulnerabilities are and could be.

Yes please. The MacID app for iPhone works perfectly for logging into my Mac, so why not something similar for 1Password.
