Wow! Maybe I upgraded too soon but......
    On my iMac;
    early 2008 - 4GB 800MHz DDR2 SDAM
    1 Password 5 - Yosemite 10.10 - Safari 8

........1 Password won't install the version 5 extension on Safari 8. I need some help please.

However on both my Mac Pro (Early 2009) and my Mac Book Pro (early 2008) I have 1 Password 3.8.21 - Yosemite 10.10 - Safari 8
    and those work fine.

    Now I notice there's a 1 Password 4??? Should I downgrade my 1 Password 5 back to 3.8 or is there / will there be a fix?

    Thanks
    Allen

  • Hi Allen,

1Password 3 is very old at this point and not recommended for use on Yosemite. 1Password 5 should work fine. What is the difficulty installing the extension in Safari with v5?

    Please let us know. Thanks!

I have 1Password5, but cannot get the extension to install in Safari (OS is Yosemite). The installer downloads but does noting as far as I can tell.

Same Problem here with 1P 5. Won't install the safari extension.
    BUT
1P 3 runs fine on Yosemite. I found I still had version 3 and used that and now Safari has 1P extension

It won't install. I was using 1P5, I get a message to install the extension to Safari, I click yes. But I don't see the Icon nor do I see it in Safari - Safari Extensions. Not there. I'm lost without my 1P and saw I still had V3 in my applications folder.

I don't know but 1P3 although is old works fine for me. I have also a Mac Book Pro early 2008 as well as a Mac Pro early 2009, both running 1P3 at this point. I never got a notice to upgrade to 1P4. Weird because I've been a customer for a long time.

Also when I do get a notice on my screen that 1P update is available it never works. Fails. Tells me to update manually but doesn't give a URL for Updates and I don't know if I can/should just download the current version. hat's probably why I never got 1P4.

    Hi @jlshanks and @allenz,

To install the extension for 1Password 5, please open this link in Safari: https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions

You should be able to click the big, green Install button and follow the rest of the steps there. If the extension doesn't seem to be working, go to Safari > Preferences > Extensions, and make sure the main Extensions switch is set to ON.

If you still have trouble with the extension after that, it will help to let us know some more details about the problem. Thanks!

@allenz, please note that the version 3 extension will not work with 1Password 5.

Hi. I an running Yosemite and 1Password 5.3.2 and I cannot get the Safari extension to install. I have downloaded it from the Agilebits web site and followed the instructions above. Can you help?

@Stuartcorner please tell us what actually happens when you try to install the Safari extension. Do you get any error message and, if so, what exactly does it say?

Hi Stephen. Thanks for your very prompt response.
Safari gave me a message saying something like "unable to install Agilebits extension". However I ran Onyx and cleaned all the caches and it worked (I was having the same problem with 1Password extension as well and it fixed that too).

@Stuartcorner: Excellent! Thanks for the update. I'm glad you were able to get Safari cleaned up so you can use extensions normally again! You should be all set, but we're here if you need us. Cheers! :)
