Hi @keyfalls,
An
x
through the Dropbox icon generally means that it is unable to sync. Dropbox's help site lists several reasons why Dropbox may be having difficulty syncing.Let's run a test and see where things are getting tripped up:
- Create a test entry on your Mac ("Test, Mac") and add some data
- Create a test entry on each of your iOS devices ("Test, iPhone/iPad") and add some data
- Does "Test for Mac" show up on either of your iOS devices?
- Does "Test for iPhone" and/or "Test for iPad" show up on your Mac?
- Log in to the Dropbox website and click on the 1Password.html file inside your 1Password.agilekeychain folder
- Enter your Master Password
- Do either or any of your test entries show up in your database here?
Please let me know the results of this little experiment - once we have a better idea of where things are going sideways, we should be able to get this straightened out simply for you :)

Test entries in the iPad, iPhone and laptop appear on those devices. Test entry on the desktop does not appear anywhere except on the desktop. None of the test entries appears in the 1Password.html file. Thanks for any help.

Sorry to jump in mid thought, but I thought I would give some background to the link you provided above. These are what we see in the Dropbox forums listed according to prevalence. However each and everyones issue is different, so please don't think everyone fits into one category. I am sure you are very well aware of that.
Over quota, gain free space, https://www.dropbox.com/getspace or Upgrade your Dropbox to a paid account. You can check your available / unused space here https://www.dropbox.com/account#personal This usually happens because you accepted an invite from a friend or co worker to a shared folder. Shared folders count against all users quota. Not just the one doing the sharing. On the page above, it will tell you if you are over quota.
The next most common remedy is to try updating your Dropbox client, some have seen this issue due to running a much outdated client. This will generally fix any SSL certificate issues as well as time issues on your machine. Lately, I have had very good results by asking folks to update the client. I cannot stress how much this has been a successful fix as of late. Please don't underestimate updating the client / app.
As a side note Dropbox has been pushing update's to a lot of people, so updating now will not hurt you. You may very well have it pushed to you in the immediate future.
The next most common issue we see in the Dropbox forums is a proxy or firewall issue.
The last cause is Dropbox installed on a network drive. example a Drive attached via USB, Thunderbolt, Ethernet etc. Dropbox was not designed to run no a removable drive and safe guards have been put into place to prevent this. They are in place because if the drive gets disconnected the app thinks the files were remove and happily goes about deleting them.
Anyway just a few notes,

Reinstalled Dropbox on the desktop and it seems to be working. All test items showed up. I'll get back if the problem recurs but in the meantime thanks to all.
