Auto Save Logins

I am "trialing" 1Password. I'm a little confused by the fact that 1Password does not offer to autosave ANYTHING. It saves (IF I specifically ask it to save after I type the login information, but no other way.
Can someone help?

Is the Auto-save new Logins option enabled on the Auto-Save tab of 1Password preferences in the main program?
