Upgrade Problems

I have 1Password for PC version 1.0.9.342. I downloaded and installed the latest version 4.1.0.526 then restarted computer. I still get an initial splash screen advertising Version 4 and when I open 1Password, it's still the old version. What did I do wrong?

Did you uninstall 1Password 1 for Windows?

If you do it now, after installing 1Password 4 for Windows, you may need to run the version 4 installer again.

I clicked the 'upgrade option' and was taken to a web page to download 1password4. Now I have both 3 and 4 on my computer. No matter which icon I click, it loads the old version. If I uninstall 3, will I lose my passwords?

As noted in that knowledgebase article:

As always, removing the software doesn’t affect your 1Password data, which is stored separately on your computer.

Remember, if you uninstall 1Password 1 for Windows, go ahead and run the 1Password 4 installer again, just to make sure all the components are in place.

Then install the 4.x extensions (from the Browsers tab of 1Password preferences.)
