Hints for IBM Employees with Firefox and Symantec Endpoint Protection

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to view the key icon or even see the Open menu. After hours of trying everything I could, I noticed that the standard IBM employee windows client automatically installs an enterprise Firefox version, "ESR" which is very downlevel. I had assumed I was installing the latest version with my pre-packaged client build CDs. Wrong. Immediately upon upgrading to the latest Firefox version, both the Open menu and the key icon appeared.
