Easily changing website passwords
I have seen mention of two things:
1) a prompt when changing a password to save the new password to 1Password<
2) a prompt when signing into a site with a different password than a saved one (asking if you wish to update)
Both scenario #1 and #2 are handled flawlessly with Dashlane. In fact, this was a huge draw for me to Dashlane over Lastpass (which was worse, but still better than 1Password).
I've even seen a post in this forum with an example dialog of what #1 looks like on Windows. So I must be missing something if I've never seen this myself even though I've changed a few passwords of my own.
So my question is, why aren't I seeing #1 or #2? Without this the current workflow for managing password changes (especially with weak passwords) is rather clunky.
Also I've noticed that there is no automatic cleanup of generated passwords like Dashlane / Lastpass.

What URL have you been trying?

Yes there is. When you create a new Login item in the web browser, then your previously generated password item is moved to the Trash.

Ok, interesting. I've tried a few different sites now where I have changed passwords.
http://alaskaair.com
result - no automatic detection of changing password and no automatic updating or prompting of password when signing back inhttp://uservoice.com
result - same as abovehttp:// ups
result - same as aboveOne thing Dashlane does which I like is in the change password field, the had a button to "Generate new password" and that automatically created a new password and then replace it on submit.

We have the same thing here:
- Click on the 1Password button
- Click on "Password Generator"
- Click on OK
1Password should enter your newly generated password into the current page. It also copies your newly generated password to the clipboard.

Here are my steps:
- Start Chrome (running 1Password 4.2.5)
- Navigate to http://alaskaair.com
- Click on: "My Account"
- Enter user ID and password
- Click on: "Sign In"
Result: the 1Password auto-save dialog appears, asking me to create a new alaskaair.com Login item.

Yes, that works. I was commenting that on the Alaska change password page, I was not asked to update my password.
I was hoping to see this:

@Omar Shahine Yes you should see this on a change password page. Can you help me reproduce this problem? Thanks!

@Omar Shahine here is an alternative workflow you might appreciate:
- Locate the change password page.
- The change password page asks for your current password. 1Password already knows your current password. Click on the 1Password button, right-click on your existing Login item, and click on "Open 1Password". Now copy & paste your current password from 1Password into the change password page.
- Switch back to 1Password, and click on "Edit" (the pencil button).
- Double-click on your current password
- Click on "Generate"
- Click on "OK" (3x). This will update the password.
- The change password page asks for your new password. Copy and paste your newly generated password from 1Password into the change password page.
- Submit the change password page and you're done!

I'll try a few sites again and see what I find. I'll take some notes.
As for your alternative workflow. Yep, I figured that one out.
