Sharing new vault with 1Password for Windows
I have 1Password Mac 5.0.2, syncing through Dropbox to two iOS devices. I now have a Windows work computer, and would like to install 1Password for Windows on that machine. My Mac data is personal, so I do NOT want to share the Mac vault with the Windows machine, however, I DO want to set up a "Work" Vault on the Windows machine, and share it with the Mac and iOS devices. As much as I have reviewed the site I cannot find whether sharing a separate Windows vault with Mac is feasible....please advise.

Hi @troutbum
What you're asking to do is indeed feasible and as you're already using Dropbox pretty straight forward. As a Mac user I can guide you along better if you're happy to create your secondary vault on your Mac although it shouldn't matter if it's done on your Mac or Windows machine.
- On your Mac go to 1Password > New Vault... and it will bring up a small window. From there you can change the icon by double clicking on the existing one, change the colour via the little box to the right of the icon and then of course all the important fields such as name, Master Password and hint. Fill them all in and your secondary vault is created.
- Populate the secondary vault with a couple of items, just so you can see it working when you perform all the synchronisation later on.
- As you already know how to sync a primary vault I won't cover the individual steps. All I'll say is that the Sync tab in 1Password's preferences, that will only show you the sync status for the active vault. So you need to have the secondary vault active to sync it, otherwise you'll see the primary vault details and you're already syncing that one.
- With your secondary vault now in Dropbox you can start on your other devices.
- Syncing iOS devices is slightly different from how you synced your primary. Instead you want to go to Settings : Vaults and then Add Vault Then you choose Sync with Dropbox and it select your secondary vault's keychain from the list. This page in one of our guides has screenshots if you're feeling unsure.
- In 1Password for Windows it should be as simple as File > Open 1Password Vault then select the relevant vault in Dropbox.
Once you'd got all the machines and devices synced and they're all showing the couple of items you placed in there at the start you can add a few more, assure yourself that syncing is working and then proceed with putting all your work related items in there.
While Dropbox will show you your primary vault's keychain, unless you open it up on your work computer it will remain locked. If you don't want to have it visible at all you could review the steps of Sharing a vault and use a second Dropbox account just for the work Windows machine. That would isolate the work vault for when at work.
If you have any questions please post here and we'll try and answer them
