Date off by 1 day

All of a sudden, all the dates are back 1 day (for example, a birthday is on 10-Jul instead of 11-Jul). This includes other data such as expiry date of passports, etc. The date is set correctly on my PC and Phone and this bug is affecting both PC (iMac) and Phone (iOS).

How do I set everything back to the correct date without having to do it manually?

I suspect you're hitting a complex bug which is due to be fixed in the next versions of 1P. There's an informative thread about it here on the 1P for iOS forum.

Have the same issue with US regional settings. Dates are off by -1day on issue and expire date fields. That gave me a lot of troubles the other daybin Thailand where i had to get some of my papers reissued. If i set the correct day and save on iOS then it immediatly save it -1 day.

The same date fields and tge DOB field get duplicated as well.

  • Hi @aknudsen,

I'm sorry for the trouble! We've fixed this bug in beta and it will be part of our 5.1 release on Mac and 5.2 release on iOS. Please let us know if you still have any trouble after the next update.

I've just realized my dates are out by 1 day. Did the fix get released? What is the recommended process for correcting the dates? Manual correction of each one?

    Hi @jmerrifield,

Sorry to hear that your dates are off in 1Password! I believe this bug has been fixed in a recent version of 1Password. Can you please let us know what version you're using? In 1Password for Mac, you can find this from the 1Password menu > About 1Password > Copy to Clipboard, and please paste that information here.

And could you also please let us know if you've noticed any particular pattern, i.e., is it all of the dates that are off by 1, or just certain dates? i.e., Identity birthdate, Passport expiration date, Credit Card expiration date, Software License purchase date, etc.

And have you noticed what caused them to change, i.e. switching time zone, or did you save a new item and the date changed immediately?

    Thanks!

Credit card expiration dates are all MM/YYYY so they seem fine. Other dates I have are on Passports and Driver Licenses and all date fields within those are one day earlier than they should be (e.g. my passport expiry is May 25th but 1P now shows it as May 24th).

The data was entered/updated at various points over the last few years, during which I've spent time in the USA, UK and New Zealand, so I've certainly moved around different time zones, but there was no one place where I either entered everything nor updated everything.

If I create a new item, the date I select stays selected, so I believe this is only affecting existing data. I've only just noticed and as mentioned it is affecting some fairly long-time data. I'm fairly sure I made use of passport information in February so it's likely that the dates got corrupted in the past 3 months, but I can't be sure of that.

    Thanks
    Jon

See if this blog posting clarifies the issue. https://blog.agilebits.com/2015/04/20/1password-time-zones-and-you/ Since you mention traveling, I think it may just hit the nail on the head for your erroneous dates.

    Hi @jmerrifield,

You're spot on with your assessment. While we fixed the issue, there simply wasn't a safe and guaranteed way to ensure all existing dates are correct. That means the only real option is for the user to quickly check all the dates in their items and make sure they're good. Once corrected you shouldn't have this issue again as long as you're using up to date versions of 1Password everywhere. If you edit items from an older version we can't guarantee what will happen but as long as you're current you'll be safe from this highly irritating bug that we've fought with.

So hopefully after a sanity check of your vault we'll have this less than stellar bug behind you.

If you have any questions from any of that though please do ask.
