alternate way(s) for typing master password

Hello,
I am using 1p on mac and ios devices and I am satisfied customer. But recently I heard that there are some new trojans (or whatever you call it) trying to steal 1p and other password managers' master passwords. I suppose that it works like keylogger or something like that. And I believe, that on mac or ios it's quite hard to get these trojans when I do not install any untrusted software. But still... the question is, is there any other way to keep it even safer on mac? I am thinking about at least virtual keyboard (but I don't like random unchecked software, so maybe you can recommend something or even give an option), or maybe opening 1p using fingerprint on ios 1p? Or maybe some external usb keys, fingerprint readers, whatever what can prevent from keylogging? Is it true, that somebody can decode 1p files having master password and backup files or something like that? I just need something really safe in all the aspects.

Regards

    Hello @IanFray!

There has, indeed, been a lot of talk about keystroke loggers. And so the first resource that I'd point you to is a blog post from a few months back about keystroke loggers and what we can and can't do about those. So take a look at Watch what you type: 1Password’s defenses against keystroke loggers.

One of the difficulties with some of the suggestions that you've offered is that they are largely vulnerable just slightly modified versions of keystroke loggers. Something with the power to intercept keystrokes could also be tuned to intercept input from these other mechanisms.

I should also note some of the reports that you may have been hearing may have overstated the threats. In particular, I'd like to point you to this discussion of Citadel.

I'm sorry for giving you a reading list instead of a simple answer, but security questions rarely have simple answers. But the simple answer is that 1Password provides a number of protections, but you should also take some simple and easy steps to keep malware off of your machines.
