Folder items in 1P Mac(5) not all showing in 1P mini

Hi,

In 1P Mac(5) I have created a folder structure. In one folder (2 levels down from "Folders") I have created 6 items, which are clearly visible in 1P Mac. However, from the 1P Mini when I look at this folder I only see 2 items. Why would that be? Is there some kind of filter that would prevent items appearing in the 1P mini menu?

Could you please open the main app, edit one of the items not displaying in 1Password mini, and ensure that display is set to Always:

Thanks for checking that. If you haven't already done so, try restarting your Mac, then see if 1Password mini shows all the items in that folder. If not, are you able to see the missing items in their respective categories in 1Password mini?

Also, if you save a new Login item from 1Password mini, does that show up in the main 1Password app? What is the exact version of 1Password on your Mac?

I have restarted the mac a number of times, that doesn't appear to help. I can see all missing items under their various categories in 1P mini. Saving a new Login item shows up in both 1P mac and mini. 1P version: 5.0.2 (502006).

Is there a way to refresh the 1P mini folder list? All of the missing items have existed since version 4.

That's quite strange, I'm not sure why those 4 items aren't showing up in 1Password mini. Can you let us know some more details:

• What types of items are missing from that folder in 1Password mini?
• What types of items are showing up as expected?
• Is the same problem happening in any other folders in mini, or just the one?
• Is the problematic folder a regular folder or a Smart folder?

Can you also try a couple things which might help narrow down the cause of the problem:

• Move a few other items to that folder. Do those items show up there in mini?
• Create a brand new folder and move the four "missing" items to that new folder. Do they appear in the new folder in mini?

Sorry it took so long to reply (Christmas break and all), but here's answers to your questions:

Various types of items, there is no single item type missing - notes, software items, login items

• What types of items are showing up as expected?

Again, various types show - it's not limited to one particular type.

• Is the same problem happening in any other folders in mini, or just the one?

Yes. In fact almost all my folders have items missing from them.

• Is the problematic folder a regular folder or a Smart folder?

They are all regular folders.

• Can you also try a couple things which might help narrow down the cause of the problem:

• Move a few other items to that folder. Do those items show up there in mini?

They do show up, but the missing ones are still missing. When I move the new ones back to their original location they appear in their original location, but the missing items are still missing.

• Create a brand new folder and move the four "missing" items to that new folder. Do they appear in the new folder in mini?

ok, when I create a new folder and move the missing items to it, they show up in the new folder. When I then move the items from the new folder back to their original location they now appear in their original location (mini menu). This is good. It gives me a work-around to get everything back to normal. Would still be nice to know what the problem was, though.

It reminds me of an issue we had but that was on 1Password for iOS and connected to Wi-Fi Sync. I don't know if it's just coincidence or not. I'll ask and see.

BTW, This is still an issue with version 5.3 (530029) Mac OSX. I've just had to do the work around described, above, to bring back some missing items.

Hi @gunslinger469,

When did the problem start happening again? Did it happen when you installed the update for version 5.3, and was that recently?

You previously said you moved the items to a new folder, then back to the original folder. If the problem is happening again and those items are still in the original folder, I wonder if there could be a problem with that specific folder. You might want to try moving the items to a new folder and then deleting the old one.

Have you had this problem with other folders, or only the one, specific folder?

Also, which type of syncing are you using (if any) on which devices?

Hi Drew_AG,

I only noticed the problem yesterday when I noticed that one of the Login Items was missing from the menu folders. I don't know when it was updated from 5.3 to 5.5 - auto updates and all. I did delete the original folder and create a new one this time, so far so good. I've just done a sync (wifi) and everything looks ok. I did have the problem on another folder, but I've since removed that one.

I'm hoping the problem was something to do with those specific folders, so that deleting the originals and creating new ones should prevent the problem from happening again. However, if it happens again, there's a small possibility this is somehow related to Wi-Fi sync, as our developers are looking into an issue where items added to a folder on the Mac might not show up in that folder on the iOS device. The problem you described sounds a bit different than that, so I'm not positive they're related, but they might be.

If the new folders you created end up having the same problem, we'll need to do some more investigating, so please let us know, thanks!
