What is default setup for syncing between OSx and iOS?

Does default setup for syncing between OSx and iOS mean that most recent items on each will be transferred to the other? If not, is there some way I can set up rules for syncing to make this happen?
If syncing is or can be set up to transfer most recent 1Password items on both OSx and iOS, then seems to me that once I've synced MacPro with iPhone I can then sync that iPhone with Macbook and by just taking a small detour I can get my most recent 1Password info from MacPro to 1 Password on Macbook? Essentially this would mean I could sync my MacPro and my Macbook over my local wifi network? Or am I missing something???

Yes, in effect that's how it works. So, yes, it should be possible to sync two Macs over local wifi using an iOS device as a bridge. You just need to be very careful that you select the correct Mac for wifi sync in the iOS device.

Thanks so much. This is exactly the answer I'd hoped to hear.
I'm one of those folks who wants to keep 1Password restricted to my local wifi network and not have to involve iCloud...despite assurances that iCloud is secure.

  • 1Password does not rely on the security of the storage provider for the security of your data. With any sync method your data is encrypted before being transmitted.

    Thanks! :)
