Can't access 1password helper

in 1Password 4 for Windows

I have Windows 8.1 and have AVG business security program. I can download 1password 4 to my computer but either in Chrome or Firefox I am unable to access 1password helper. My firewall allows the specified ports, I am not using a proxy server. My version of AVG does not have link scan surf shield. Disabling auto LAN settings was not helpful. Any ideas?

    Have you tried disabling the Help > Advanced > Verify web browser code signature toggle?

    I can't get into 1password since I'm stopped by the error message about no access to 1password helper

    @kepstein‌ you don't need access to the helper to open the main 1Password application. Run it from the start menu.
