Cannot Contact License Server

Hello,

I purchased 1Password for Windows, went to enter the registration key and get the following message

"Cannot contact license server for activation."

What options do I have? I am working inside a corporate environment as an external contractor.

Regards

Jarvil

    Jarvil, welcome to the forum!

If you're interested in using the latest beta version, please select the Updates tab of 1Password preferences, enable Include Beta versions, and click Check Now. That problem should be resolved in the last couple of beta builds.

If you'd prefer to stick with non-beta builds, please contact us at [email protected], and let us know what's wrong. We'll be glad to help!
  • Hi,

I've also purchased a license of 1password for windows and I'm also not able to enter the license code because of the above mentioned error message.
I'm running version 1.0.2.155 and "include beta versions" is activated but unfortunately there is no new beta version available; is there another solution getting rid of them?

    many thanks
    regards
    chris

Have you entered your proxy settings here? File > Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Network

1.0.3.BETA-163 has been available for a few days, and 1.0.3.BETA-164 is available today.
  • my proxy settings are ok, until this version I was able to update but my installation still finds no beta version...can you post a link for downloading the beta version?

    many thanks

Sorry, Chris. Enabling the Include Beta versions option and clicking the Check Now button is the only way I know of to get beta builds.

I'm surprised it doesn't work for you. :(

I'd ask you to relaunch 1Password and try again, but 1.0.3.165 has been released, this morning, so there's not currently a beta available to test with.
  • In a similar vein, I also have a proxy that doesn't work too well with 1Password, I needed my unlock details to be sent to me by Agile.

I now face a similar problem because I know there is an update available (I updated my home machine ok) but I can't get it automatically as I guess the same mechanism is used for the updater as registration.

Is it safe to just install the latest version manually off the website or will this reset my license information?

    No.

It also won't affect your existing 1Password data.
  • Thanks, it worked nicely.

    Awesome,

The new version fixed the license issue. Finally able to activate my purchase today! :D
