1Password 5 will not fill username on my Company's Website
I am using 1PW5 on the latest version of Safari and Yosemite. I have updated my extensions. My company's scheduling website uses two passwords. Prior to upgrading to 1PW5 there was no problem. Now when I hit the Icon the two passwords autofill but the user name does not. I have tried deleting and then re-saving the sites info both automatically and manually. I have gone to the edit screen and confirmed all of the data is in place with the correct symbols to the right of each entry. I have run out of ideas.

Hi, @allnatt! Thanks for the report!
Is the login page you're referencing publicly available? If so, could you provide the link to that so we can run some tests on our side?
Also, are you using beta versions of 1Password or the 1Password Safari extension? Either way, could you let me know which versions of those you are using?
Thanks!

Hi Rob,
Unfortunately it is not publicly available but I may be able to attach a screenshot. I am not using the beta version.

Actually the webpage is publicly accessible:

Hmm, I'm testing with version 4.2.5 of the extension and it seems to be working for me. I entered some fake information in each of the fields, hit Enter, 1Password prompted me to save the information, I did, reloaded the page, used 1Password to fill the form, and all the fields were filled correctly.
Is that what you tried?

I checked and I am using version 4.2.5. I tried the same thing you did and it worked for me as well. However, I then went back and deleted all my saved logins and when I tried with my actual login it saved but then only autofilled the two passwords and did not fill the user name.

I'm regressing. I attempted to uninstall and then reinstall the extension. I then saved a new login for the site. Now when I try to log in only the first password auto fills. The user name and second password both remain blank.

This is strange. If you move all your logins for the site to the trash (without emptying the trash), then follow the steps I listed to save a new login using your actual information, what happens then?

1PW is now autofilling both passwords again, but still no luck on the user name. I have previously (several times) tried deleting the logins and then saving the new one but again same result. Again this is only recent, I believe it coincided with upgrading to 1PW5. It work perfectly for months/years before that.

Hi, @allnatt, I'm sorry for the trouble this has given you. I'd like to get to the bottom of this and make ourselves a test so we can fix it and make sure it doesn't break in the future. If I could get a copy of the Login item that isn't working for you (without your actual password information included), we should be able to do that. Here's how:
- In 1Password's preferences, click the Advanced tab.
- Turn on the option for Show Item > Copy JSON menu item.
- Now select the 1Password item that isn't filling correctly, and click the Item menu at the top of the screen.
- Click "Copy JSON" and paste it in a new email.
- Look at the text that you pasted and replace any sensitive information with asterisks before you send it to us. Please don't replace anything but information you've entered, since the other pieces will help us figure out what's going wrong.
- Include my name (Rob Yoder) and a link to this thread in the email, and send it to support+forum@agilebits.com.
From there, I'll take a look and see what I can figure out. Thanks!

I use the same website with the above mentioned problem. Any resolution?

Hi, @rcbj. We just released 1Password 5.3 for Mac today, and it includes a ton of fixes for filling information on websites. Update to version 5.3 and make sure you're using the latest version of the 1Password browser extension as well. Then see if you can save a new copy of your Login by filling in the fields on the website and selecting "Save new Login" from the gear menu in the browser extension.
If that doesn't work, we'll need some more information. I never heard back from @allnatt, but if you can follow the steps above to send us a copy of the offending item (with sensitive information deleted), then we'll be able to investigate further.
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't respond but in truth I sort of gave up on ever finding a fix for my problem. Fortunately, I may have stumbled onto the answer by accident. Many of us at my company use the same password for both passwords. Several weeks ago I accidentally changed the second password by one character during a routine password update and 1 Password immediately resumed its normal function and began auto submitting my login and passwords with no problem.
Long story short, it appears that when a log in requires two passwords and they are identical, 1 password ignores the second and leaves that box blank.

Hi @allnatt,
Thank you for reporting back with this discovery. It's the sort of weird issue where if somebody simply isn't considering it a possible cause it can slip you by. After all, who would guess that identical passwords might be to blame. Obviously this is something we need to sort out and we have an open ticket for it. Hopefully being a 1Password user it means you can easily maintain different passwords for the two and leave 1Password to do the work of remembering them for you while we work on this. Thank you for letting us know
@rcbj, I'm mentioning your username as you will also no doubt be happy to learn about the cause.
