I upgraded to version 5 of 1password for mac. I also installed all my browser extensions.
When I went to the new 1password, all of my passwords have been changed, ie, they no longer are the passwords I entered.
All of my online accounts are locked out for me.
You have no phone number to call for help.
I am totally screwed by your program.
If you see this, which I doubt, call [deleted phone number]

I think we need to step back and take this slowly, if you don't mind. Can we be clear about exactly what happened?

    1. You upgraded to 1P5 (obviously running under OS X Yosemite). What version of 1P did you have before?
    2. Did you do anything else at the same time as you upgraded to 1P5 (upgrading the OS, for example)?
    3. Did you sync your 1P data, before the upgrade, with any iOS device? If so, how?
    4. If you do a Spotlight search for "1Password" (without the quotation marks) what does it show in the results?

There is no way that 1P is going automatically to change all your passwords. I'm wondering whether it might be possible you have two versions of 1P on your machine (which Yosemite doesn't like). If you give us the answers to the questions somebody will be able to help you.

  • Hi @ric smith‌,

I'm really sorry that this is happening. I've deleted your phone number from your post since this is a public forum.

I suspect what may have happened here is that you've accidentally switched between the Mac App Store version of 1Password to the AgileBits store, or vice versa. If you had previously done the switch, your Mac would contain two copies of the database. One before the switch, and one after the switch. If you switched again, it would go back to using the one prior to the switch which would contain older (likely out of date) data.

Is this at all possible? Where did you buy 1Password from originally? And where did you download version 5 from?

    Rick
