check for new version problem

Is there any way to turn off the new version check?
I'm in China and the network to some specify website is blocked(Google included).Yesterday 1Password stuck after new version check dialog popup which made the application no response.
And this dialog pops up immediately after I open the application.
I tried uninstall and re-install but it keeps pops up.
Please help.
