having trouble with first time sync of second computer
I’m having an issue with 1 password for mac. I just bought it and installed on my laptop. all good there. I am trying now to install on my desktop mac but can’t get past the "where is your data screen". When I put in "iCloud" message says "could not find information in iCloud". iCloud is enabled on both computers and is syncing fine with schedule, contacts etc. What is the issue?

I have the same problem. Can you help? V 5.0.2 (502007) - iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) V 10.10.1 (14B25)

With the introduction of Yosemite and iOS 8 iCloud support got 'messy'. Apple introduced a new iCloud and associated frameworks but they restricted access to only the newest versions of their OSes and only to applications purchased via their stores. This sadly means iCloud sync requires 1Password 5 (MAS) on all devices. If you aren't running the MAS version and haven't upgraded to iCloud Drive when requested that would be one reason for problems with iCloud.
If however you are running 1Password 5 (MAS) and you're using the newer iCloud Drive then we have a different issue on our hands. Please let us know and we can carry on the troubleshooting process from there.

Hi,
Same problem. I am trying to wi-fi sync my second mac and I can't get past the "where is your data" screen. I am running Yosemite 10.10.1 and 1 Password is version 5.1 Agile Web Store. My laptop has 1 password running just fine (also running Yosemite 10.10.1 and 1 password version 5.1 Agile Web Store. So, what gives, can I do a wi-fi sync with this configuration? No interest in using iCloud, btw.
Best Regards

@fjb182comcastnet you cannot use wifi sync directly to sync two Macs. You can just about do it using an iOS device as a bridge (i.e., Mac1 to iOS device to Mac2) but it's a little inelegant and not entirely straightfoward. In your case, that really leaves you with the option of using either Dropbox or, possibly, folder sync.

As @Stephen_C mentioned, you can't do Wi-Fi sync between two Macs, as 1Password for Mac only knows how to be a Wi-Fi sync server, not how to connect to another server. Since you're looking to avoid iCloud, your syncing options between the two Macs would then be limited to either Dropbox, or Folder Sync + some other sync mechanism to sync folders on two Macs.
I hope this helps.

Thank you, I'll try the Mac1 to iOS to Mac2. I really just wanted my data on my other Mac for safekeeping, not for daily use so if this works at all it should be good enough.
