1Password icon not working on IE 11

I have enabled 1password with preferences for Internet Explorer but the icon doesn't do anything when I click on it. Everything works as expected for Firefox and Chrome but can't get it to work on IE. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just to make sure I understand, there's a check mark next to Internet Explorer on the Browsers tab of 1Password preferences in the main program?

If so, and the button is present on the IE toolbar, have you tried the steps in this article?
