Can I Add the Column "FOLDERS" in Top Item List Layout?
1PW Version: 4.4.3
OSX: 10.9.5
I want to add the columns Folders, and also add Tags to the "Item List Layout > Top" view so I can sort and see which items are not in a folder or don't have a tag. I remember in the past being able to do this and it really helped make it easy to grab items and drag them to the appropriate folder or tag.
I have tried right clicking on the column headings to see if it would let me add other columns but no luck

Thanks for any help,
Travis

Hi @GeniusRedacted,
I've added your voice to the request but if you're only interested in whether an item is tagged or not then you could use a Smart Folder to do so now rather than waiting for a future update. I do this myself and when combined with Show item count in sidebar is a quick way to see if you have untagged.
Here are the steps for what I created.
- In 1Password, use the drop down menu File > New Smart Folder
- The top of your 1Password window should now look like this
- Change Title to Number of tags.
- The is will become is greater than, change this back to is.
- Enter the number 0 in the text box.
- After these changes it should now look like this
- Click on the **Save ** button and then type in a name for you Smart Folder. Mine is simply titled "Untagged".
If you don't have it enabled already, the Show item count in sidebar option in the General tab of 1Password's preferences will allow you to view it at a glance as I mentioned earlier. Now it won't help if you want to see what items are tagged with what but selecting a specific tag in the Tags section of the sidebar will do this. Will this help at all as a workaround for now?

Thanks @littlebobbytables ... This'll work for folders too... HOWEVER... It still would be great to have a column for Folders, and Tags. There's not even a way to know the folder/tag from the description. So unless I go into every folder/tag and manually verify (or setup smart folders for every folder/tag), I'm lost on what is where. (Kinda difficult when you have 1232 total items. ugh).

Hi @SDSLLC,
Don't worry, we still have an open request for this. The suggestion from littlebobbytables was just an idea for how to easily see which items don't currently have any tags, in case that helps at all. Hopefully we'll be able to add columns for folders and tags in the future.
If you need anything else, please let us know!

Awesome, I'm really happy to hear that! :)

Sorry about the delayed response…
@littlebobbytables and @Drew_AG I have been using smart folders and but like @SDSLLC stated having the tags show up in a sortable field in list view would allow for faster identification of what needs to be tagged, re-tagged, or untagged.
This is more of a situation when multiple tags are applied - using a list view would allow me to see that I either added an extra tag to an item or forgot to add one to it.0 -
Thanks @GeniusRedacted, we appreciate your feedback! I also think that would be a helpful feature, and hopefully we'll be able to have that in a future update.
Please let us know if you need anything else! :)

Just checking in on this. Any idea when column customization (in Top view) might be re-implemented?
I'm not sure how 1Password v4 handled this, but as someone who just jumped from v3 to v5, I'm having a difficult time getting used to the lack of column controls that v3 had.

Hi @Tom_FL,
I'm sorry you're having a tough time getting used to the layout options in 1Password 5! The "Left" and "Top" views in version 5 were the same ones available in version 4.
Can you elaborate on what sort of customization you'd like to have in Top view? If you're asking about the ability to add or remove columns in Top view, our developers have actually added that in a recent beta version of 1Password 5 for Mac. So, barring any unforeseen circumstances, that should be included in the next update (although I don't have a timeframe for when that will be available).
If you're asking about something else, please let us know. Thanks!

Drew - that's exactly what I was referring to (add/hide columns in each category / folder). Glad to hear it's in the works.
Thanks for the quick follow-up.
