Sync Issue Dropbox+Windows+iOS+Mac
Hi all,
Recording this here to help others, and myself if I can't get it resolved!
Looks like an issue that's happened before (https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/10297/password-list-created-on-iphone-is-not-viewable-on-windows-how-do-i-resolve) except my setup is larger.
Set-up:
- Win7 1Password v4.1.0.530
- MacAir v10.10.1, 1Password 5.0.2
- 1 x iPad and 2 x iPhones, all running iOS 8.1.2, with 1Password app.
- Dropbox Sync
Issue:
- MacAir has 266 entries - appears to be the most complete
- i-devices have nearly as many (265, 263)
- Win7 has considerably less (~200).
- missing entries, when looked at in http in Dropbox all produce an error 'The data file for this entry could not be loaded'.
Actions:
- disabled Dropbox sync on iPhones and iPad
- Erased all data and settings from iPhones and iPad
- Can't see a way to 'disable dropbox sync' in the Win7 application - only select a different vault. Closed application.
- MacAir, Preferences>Sync>change syncing> tick Delete data from Dropbox [lots of red warnings]
- confirmed dropbox sync completed - confirmed all vault files removed from Mac, Win7PC and in dropbox http
- created a new folder in dropbox ready for vault
- MacAir, Preferences>Sync>Sync with Dropbox, selected new folder in dropbox, >Create New
- Waited until sync compelte in 1Password on MacAir
- Wait until dropbox complete sync to Win7
- added Test login record in 1Password in Macair - dropbox seemed to seem the 2 files across to Win7 machine
- confirmed in dropbox http 1password page that all logons were there and working, including previous ones that would not open and had produced error, and the Test login I just created
- Opened 1Password on Win7 - it finds new vault in dropbox automatically. Unlock. All entries now appear to be there - same numbers as on the MacAir
- open 1Password app on iphones and ipad, select new sync to dropbox, it finds the new keychain, select it, sync completed. All items present.
- I have a remote desktop, second Win7 PC and 2nd iphone at home that I'll need to resync when I get home to them. Hopefully they won't mess it up!
So all appears to now be working again. Hopefully no more issues.

You're correct that there is no way to disable Dropbox syncing in 1Password for Windows, because 1Password for Windows simply uses the .agilekeychain folder you point it to; Dropbox handles the syncing automatically.
You did a great job doing what one of our 1Password for Mac or 1Password for iOS specialists would've suggested: starting over with a new "sync point" (the .agilekeychain folder they create if you choose Dropbox syncing).
I'm glad to hear it's working for you!
