Improved password strength meter in 4.1.0.538?
I just upgraded to 4.1.0.538 and noticed the password strength meter has changed. Existing 12 character passwords that were previously rated Good are now rated Fantastic. Have you lowered the bar on what is considered a fantastic password? I see on the release notes a bullet for Improved password strength meter. Can someone from agilebits please elaborate on these improvements? I just want to understand.

The old password meter was pretty good at calculating strength for random characters, but it was terrible at diceware (basically, it would over-estimate diceware strength).
That is why I decided to "borrow" the algorithms from passwordmeter.com and re-write the password meter.
While some of your passwords might have a higher rating, you should actually see more passwords in the Weak Passwords category.
