Hi @TomSafety,
Yes, Dropbox sync will definitely work between 1Password versions 3 and 5 for Mac. You can find steps to set up Dropbox sync in 1Password 5 here: Sync with Dropbox
If you have more questions, we're always glad to help! :)

Thank you. Yes, I already have it setup on Dropbox but with version 3 on all machines. What I'm unclear about is: given that version 3 doesn't have the vaults feature, what will I see when accessing from my old laptop?

Hi @TomSafety,
Good to hear from you! Thanks for clarifying your question. If you have multiple vaults in 1Password 5, each vault is synced separately. If each vault is set up to sync via Dropbox, you will have a different .agilekeychain for each vault. 1Password 3 for Mac will only sync with one of those, since it doesn't support multiple vaults.
So for example, if you have 2 vaults set up in 1Password 5 (Primary and secondary vault), and you set up Dropbox sync for both vaults, you will have 2 keychain files in Dropbox. 1Password 3 for Mac will only sync with one of those keychain files, so if you have 1Password 3 set up to sync with your Primary vault in Dropbox, 1Password 3 will only show data from your Primary vault.
Right now, your keychain file in Dropbox is probably named 1Password.agilekeychain, and that's the vault you see in 1Password 3 on your Macs. When you start using 1Password 5, that same vault should end up as your Primary vault. Any secondary vaults you add to 1Password 5 can also sync with Dropbox, but will not show up in 1Password 3 (unless you change which vault 1Password 3 is reading from Dropbox).
Does that help to answer your question? If you have more questions about that, just let us know!
