I Password 5 for Mac
Just purchased a replacement Macbook pro and decided to upgrade my 1 password 3 to 1 password 5. My issue now is that I am stuck doing the download because I am unable to retrieve the data from my iMac. My initial desired was to purchase the iPhone 5 1 password app as well in order to have all my passwords readily available (iMac, 2 MacBook Pro, 1 iPhone 5) for one user. Do I need to return my 1 password 5 a settle for the 1password 4 in order for me to sync all my computers (in reality I just need I password 5 on my new Macbookpro and my phone, but can't transfer the info from my iMac). Any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi @BrendaDMD,
We can get all or as many of those machines and devices as you wish to sync.
To best assist you can we learn a little more about your setup at the moment.
You definitely have 1Password 3 on your iMac from that description but were you syncing your vault with any other copies of 1Password 3?
If you weren't and you have no objection to Dropbox then we can help you move your 1Password.agilekeychain on your iMac to a Dropbox account and then all the other machines will be able to see and sync.
If that sounds like an acceptable solution let us know and we can go through the steps required.
If you want to have 1Password on all of your Macs but they use a range of different versions of OS X that's fine too, if you were to let us know what version of OS X or iOS (for the iOS devices) that you're running and we can let you know what versions of if there are any hurdles with the iOS devices.

Hello! Right now, I only have 1 Password 3 on my IMac OS X version 10.7.5 no other copies of 1 password 3. I would like to
download the 1password 5 to my MacBookPro OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and sync both computers plus my I phone 5 IOS 8.1.3 (still have to buy the app). I do not have any objections to Dropbox. Standing by… and thank you for your time.0 -
Hi @BrendaDMD,
Thank you for the details! I think this should be fairly easy. To start, you'll need to set up Dropbox sync in 1Password 3 on your iMac.
Once you've done that, and Dropbox completely syncs your vault, you can sync it to 1Password 5 on your MacBook. If it is the first time you're opened & set up 1Password 5, you can select "I've used 1Password before" and then choose to sync your vault from Dropbox. If you already set up 1Password 5 as a new user, you can follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.
On your iPhone, you can download 1Password 5 for iOS from the App Store. It's a free download, and offers free basic features. (If you would like to unlock the Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS, you can do so with an in-app purchase.) When you open 1Password for the first time on your iPhone, choose Sync existing vault and then Sync with Dropbox. Follow any additional steps to complete the setup.
Hopefully that all goes well, but if you run into any issues or have questions along the way, just let us know and we'll be happy to help. Thanks!
