Logins Disappeared!
I have had several of my logins just disappear as of this morning. It may of been linked to a iCloud key chain issues, but I cannot root cause this. Can you help?

Hi @Michael O'Hare,
I'm sorry to hear about your missing logins! That certainly shouldn't happen. You mentioned a possible link to an issue with iCloud Keychain, but there's no direct connection between iCloud Keychain and 1Password, so I don't think that would have anything to do with it. But out of curiosity, can you elaborate on what sort of issues you're having with iCloud Keychain?
Now as far as missing logins, where did you notice they were gone? In other words, were you trying to find them in the 1Password extension in your web browser, or the 1Password mini icon in your Mac's menu bar, or in the main 1Password app? If you open the main 1Password app and select All Items in the left sidebar, are you able to find those Logins in the list? Or what if you click in the Search field at the top of that window and type a word or some other text that you know exists in one of those Logins - does that Login appear in the Search results?
If you're really missing Login items that you know were there yesterday, you can try restoring from a backup. Before doing that, open the main 1Password app and go to File > Backup in order to create a current backup of your data. Then, from the Preferences > Backup window, choose a recent backup from before today and click the Restore button. Do you see the missing logins in the restored vault?
Let us know how it goes and we'll take it from there. Thanks!

I am having the same problem - logins disappear without a trace. The response above sounds pretty lame. I opened the main 1 password and the entry that most recently disappeared is gone. And this has happened with other logins 3-4 times over the last 3 months or so. Backup restoration as a solution - this must be a joke given that the problem is obviously widespread. Safari 8.0.4 on OX 10.10. 2. Thx Martin.

I'm unsure how you get that impression from one post on the subject in the thread dedicated to it. I think if the problem were "widespread" we'd soon here about it here. :)
It would be helpful if you'd let us have more information:
- What version of 1P are you using?
- Do you sync your 1P data to another device, if so to what device, what version of 1P do you have running on that device and what sync method do you use?

Hi @msarter,
I'm sorry you've had a problem with disappearing logins! It certainly doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, but we're more than happy to help figure out why it seems to be happening to you. If there's some sort of rare bug that caused this to happen, we'll obviously want to fix that, but we don't have enough information yet to know for sure. Unfortunately we haven't heard back from the OP, so we don't know how that turned out. It might have been a completely different problem than you're experiencing, although with a similar description.

To make sure I understand, the missing items are Logins, and were created shortly before they disappeared? When this happened before, was it also with recently-created Login items? Also, when it happened before, what did you do to recover those items? Or did you re-create them? Did the entire Login item disappear, or were you missing certain information from within the item? Has this happened with other types of items?
The information Stephen asked you for will be very helpful. In addition to that, any other details you can give us might help. For example, did you create those Login items when prompted to do so by the 1Password extension in your browser? Or did you manually create them within the main 1Password app? In the last few months, have you created other Login items which did not disappear? If you're syncing 1Password with other devices, did the Logins disappear from those other devices as well, or only from your Mac?

After several such cases for months, decided to report back.
Today tried to fill in (login in) into a website and there was no response. The Login item is there but most fields are disappeared(incl password). Have been using 1pass for years now and it is obvious that this is a version 4(or later) issue. This never happened with ver 3. Recently started syncing exclusively with ipad air (wifi and usb) but problems were present prior to my purchase of ipad. Also never create 1pass items using ipad. Checked the ipad and last sync was 19 days ago with this problem present.
I am a longterm 1pass fan & user but agree with the other poster that presenting the backup solution is nonstarter. This is terrifying and my yesterday backup already lacks several items that was created today and I am not even sure which backup is problem-free.

Hi @illusion3,
I'm sorry you're having these problems with 1Password! From your description, I'm not quite sure I understand if there is an issue with missing data, or just a problem filling that data in web browsers, so I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions to help clarify what's happening:
After several such cases for months, decided to report back.
Do you mean you've previously contacted us for help with this issue? I see you posted in our forums before, but about something different. If you have any previous correspondence with us about the current issue(s), please let us know.
Today tried to fill in (login in) into a website and there was no response.
It sounds like you tried (unsuccessfully) to use the 1Password extension in a web browser. What are the exact steps you took to try to fill your Login info on the website? For example, did you open the website first and then invoke the 1Password extension? If so, did you click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar, or did you use the ⌘\ or ⌥⌘\ keyboard shortcut? If you clicked the extension icon, what did you see? If you used a keyboard shortcut, did the 1Password mini window open at all? Also, what version of the 1Password extension is installed in each browser?
The Login item is there but most fields are disappeared(incl password).
When you say the Login item is "there", do you mean you can see (and select) it in the 1Password extension? Or do you mean you can see it in the main 1Password app, but not in the extension? If you can find that Login item in the main 1Password app, do you see any data in the username, password, or website fields? If you click the "show web form details" button, do you see your username and password there? Is this a Login item that was previously working correctly when you tried to have it filled on the website?
Recently started syncing exclusively with ipad air (wifi and usb)
1Password doesn't have a "USB sync" option, so I'm not exactly sure what you mean here. It sounds like you're using the Wi-Fi sync option between 1Password for Mac and 1Password for iOS, but if you're also switching between that and another sync option, please let us know in case it is somehow related to the other problem(s).
Also, if the problem is that information has disappeared from one or more Login items on your Mac, is that information present in 1Password on your iPad? Aside from your Mac and iPad, do you sync 1Password with any other computers/devices? If so, what version of 1Password is on each, and how do you sync your data with each one?
I am a longterm 1pass fan & user but agree with the other poster that presenting the backup solution is nonstarter. This is terrifying and my yesterday backup already lacks several items that was created today and I am not even sure which backup is problem-free.
Before restoring from a backup, you would want to make a new backup of all your current data. From the main 1Password app, go to File > Backup. That will open the Backup preferences and show all your backups, including the new one you just made. Now you can restore from one or more of your previous backups to see if your missing data is there. If it is, you can export the specific item(s) to a .1pif file (File > Export > Selected Items). Then restore from the new backup you made of the current data, and then import from the .1pif file, and now you should have all your latest data again. (Please note, the .1pif file is unencrypted, so once you're finished with it, you'll want to delete it.) If you have questions about that, please do let us know. We'll be happy to give more specific steps if that helps.

Again, I'm not quite sure what you're referring to here, what exactly happens in your web browsers? Is that a separate issue from the missing data?
I'm sorry for all the questions! We just want to be sure we understand what sort of issue(s) you're experiencing so we can help to get things working correctly for you again. Thanks in advance!

Hi @msarter,
Can you send us a diagnostic report please. I don't know if it will highlight anything but it's worth checking to make sure. This guide will assist in how to create one.
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums
The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.
When sending the diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two.
Once you've sent the report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. If we're lucky it contains something we can investigate. What I fear might make this a lot harder is trying to pin down when something has gone missing in contrast to when it was noticed it has. If there has been a large enough gap between those two events it will likely make this very difficult to pin down. Let's see if a DR sheds any light.
