Please help. I forgot my password and I can't get in my 1Password

    @LissyB

    If you're referring to your 1Password "Master Password," absolutely no one can help you. That is part of the security of the system.

    @Plato is correct that only you know your master password and there is no back door to unlock it without that master password. AgileBits does offer some hints that have been helpful to users who have forgotten to try to remember it. They can be consulted here.

    Hi @LissyB,

    I hope the link hawkmoth posted proves to be useful as what he said is correct, there is no backdoor and we make no record of your Master Password, either would compromise the security of 1Password and place all our users at risk which we strive not to let happen. I'm sorry it isn't better news, fingers crossed the link helps!

    Once again, this is justification for my dependency on a physical safety deposit box. Everything could go wrong and I'm still protected.

    Although people with safety deposit boxes are probably very much a minority at a guess. Still I see your point.

    Why would you say that? I'm thinking of deeds to houses, titles for cars, wills, old mementos, birth, marriage and death certificates, and on and on and on.

    I see the potential uses @Plato but you're the only person I know with a safety deposit box, that's why I suspect the number of people with one isn't massive. The popularity might be a country specific thing?

    Perhaps country does make a difference. Having said that, I never specifically asked anyone if they have a safety deposit box. For all I know, I might be the only one in the country. Of course, it could also be 100% of the population!
