    Hi @JimR013,

Unfortunately what you want to do isn't possible with iCloud. It's why syncing of secondary vaults via iCloud hasn't been previously implemented because it is not possible to share files or folders between iCloud accounts and you cannot be logged into two different iCloud account from any Apple device.

Your easiest option here is Dropbox. It's independent so it works over Mac, iOS, Windows and Android, it doesn't have the incompatibilities between pre-Yosemite and Yosemite (iCloud Drive vs iCloud) and can be easily configured to allow you to share a primary or a secondary vault, whatever you wish, with your spouse.

As it stands though iCloud Sync only allows you to synchronise a primary vault between Macs and iOS devices that use your Apple ID for iCloud Drive.

If you have any questions regarding any of this please do ask.

I thought I needed to buy 1Password thru the App store for this reason (to sync thru ICloud with different Family members) very disappointing!
so if my wife doesn't want to use Dropbox I guess she would have to create her own vault is that correct?
It would be Nice if you could create syncing thru ICloud for family sharing, Just like u do for purchasing, Thanx

@JimR013 - Yes, if you want to share vaults, you can't do that through iCloud, but you can through Dropbox. And the restriction on not sharing over iCloud with different Apple IDs is Apple's restriction, not AgileBits's. If your wife wants to use iCloud with a different Apple ID than yours, yes, she would need to create her own vault.

Some users sync a primary vault via iCloud and secondary one(s) via Dropbox.

    Hi @JimR013,

Sorry for any confusion about vault sharing!

I thought I needed to buy 1Password thru the App store for this reason (to sync thru ICloud with different Family members) very disappointing!

The Mac App Store version of 1Password 5 for Mac is needed for the iCloud sync feature. However, iCloud does not let you share your synced 1Password data with a different iCloud account. This isn't something we have control over, it's just not something that can be done in iCloud at this time. Sharing a vault is done within the sync service being used, not within the 1Password app. For example, take a look at this knowledgebase article. In the steps to share a vault with someone else, you'll notice the act of sharing a folder in Dropbox is done using the Dropbox software (1Password simply syncs your vault to that shared folder). Right now, iCloud doesn't have that same sharing option as Dropbox.

so if my wife doesn't want to use Dropbox I guess she would have to create her own vault is that correct?

That's correct, you and your wife would both need to use Dropbox to share a 1Password vault with each other. If she doesn't want to do that, she can still use 1Password and create her own vault with her own items.

It would be Nice if you could create syncing thru ICloud for family sharing, Just like u do for purchasing, Thanx

Apple's Family Sharing feature allows you to share App Store/iTunes purchases with other family members who use different Apple IDs. It doesn't have anything to do with the content/data you create in 1Password. Again, sharing your 1Password data between two different iCloud accounts is something Apple would need to make possible, similar to the sharing feature in Dropbox.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about all that! If you have more questions or need anything else, please don't hesitate to let us know - we're always happy to help!
