Is it possible to restore a vault in windows without a backup? I re-installed windows and wiped all my data including 1password backups. I still have my sync files in dropbox and 1password running on android and iOS. Can I somehow restore the vault with my master password?
Thanks!

  • @Bueno - If your 1Password vault is in Dropbox -

    • Run 1Password on your Windows PC.
    • Click on File > Open 1Password Vault and navigate to that 1Password vault.

One prior step to add to @LauraR's steps, if you haven't done it already:

    • Install the Dropbox app on Windows and let it fully sync you keychain folder.
    • Run 1Password on your Windows PC.
    • Click on File > Open 1Password Vault and navigate to that 1Password vault.
  • @RichardPayne - thanks for adding those steps to install Dropbox and allow it to fully sync. @Bueno - I hope this has helped.

  • Hi @Bueno,

Just in case if you're getting the welcome tour when you open 1Password, you won't find the File Menu. In this case, click on I've used 1Password before and point it to your 1Password folder that's in your Dropbox folder. /cc @LauraR

Thank you! :) It worked from the dropbox folder. It would be good to add that info to the software also.

  • @Bueno - I'm glad that worked from your Dropbox folder.
