Been using Notebook for years. Would like to open with 1Password. Can 1Password be used to open applications that require a password? (Sorry but I'm new to this)

No, not on the Mac (though this is to some extent possible on iOS devices). Best you can do is store the password, and copy and paste it into the application.

    Hi @fredarvidson,

Sadly danco is correct, at the moment copy and paste is your only option. I shall add your query to an existing feature request though that would like to see this happen

I don't want to open the Notebook Application, but would like to store a PW in 1Password to open a Notebook password-protected file, which requires the entry of a password to enter. It seems copy and paste is the only way that works here?

Seems weird that this is the second or third PW I tried to use with 1Password and already I'm combing the blogs to find how to do it.
Not disappointed yet...maybe I'm unknowingly a power user!

    Hello @duckdave,

Password filling in 1Password for Mac currently only works between 1Password mini and the browser extensions. 1Password mini passes the data to the extension and the extension injects it directly into the web page. So you're not missing anything as we don't currently have a way of interacting with windows in general. That's what the existing feature request relates to. Unfortunately all I can do (but most certainly will) is add your post to help highlight this is a desired feature. The devs already know, it's more about finding a good approach and pushing this request to the top of the todo list. As you can imagine, sometimes other matters become more pressing hence the delays. Your post has been added though as each one does help. I apologise there isn't a better answer for you today.
