Hi @siallen,
I'm sorry you're having trouble backing up 1Password! I'm not sure exactly why you would be getting that error with version 5, but not version 4. To help us figure out what's going on, can you please let know a few more details:
- What exact version of Mac OS X are you running?
- What exact version of the 1Password app is installed? (From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password)
- Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
- Did this problem also happen in 1Password 4, or has it only been happening in version 5?
- If you go to 1Password > Preferences > Backup, are any previous backups listed there? If so, when is the latest backup?
- In that same window, if you click the Backup Now button, do you get the same error?
- Can you please let us know the full/exact error message you receive? If possible, a screenshot of the error message would help. To include it in your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:
Thanks!

Hi @Drew_AG , don't know if you guy have solved this, but it seems I'm having the same problem. I just updated last night from 1password 3 to 1password 5.
Mac: OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
1Password 5: 5.3.1 (531001)
Agile Web Store
No Backups have ever been saved and when I click the Backup Now button I get the same notification.Cheers!

Hi @viejOMs,
I didn't hear back from the OP, so I'm not sure how that turned out. I'm sorry you're also getting that error!
Thank you for the details! You may be able to solve this by restarting 1Password mini. From the 1Password 5 app, go to Help > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini.
Once you do that, unlock 1Password and go to File > Backup. Does that seem to work now, or do you get another error message? Please let us know how it goes, thanks!
