Upgrading from 1password 3 to 1password 4 on Mavericks

Hi,

I have 1password 3 on Mavericks and I attempted to upgrade to version 4. I downloaded version 4 and copied it to the Applications Folder but it did not overwrite the old version. So now, I have two versions. How can I utilize the new version and have it connect with my old password files? Then, how do I delete the old version without losing my passwords? Any ideas?

It sounds as though for some reason 1P4 has not found your 1P3 data and if you can't provoke it to do so as a result of reading either of those please wait for some more expert advice. Certainly don't for the moment delete 1P3 until you're entirely happy all your information is safely in 1P4.

I realise this post may not be of much help but thought it might be better than nothing!

In the end, version 4 worked and recognized the password file but version 3 did not automatically delete itself so I manually took care of that.

My husband--who is a computer scientist--helped me figure it out. I'm not sure what we did but it worked.
