iCloud Not Appearing on Sync Menu [Mac App Store version is required for iCloud Sync]
Hi
I recently upgraded to V5 (from V3) so I could specifically use the iCloud sync option. But I cannot see how you get the iCloud option to appear in the sync menu? I just have folder and Dropbox options to select from.
Have been searching this forum and see your refer to using the Apple App store version? Whereas I bought the upgrade direct from your website? Is this the problem or am I missing something glaringly obvious?
All the laptops and desktops are running Yosemite 10.10.3 and the mobile devices are all on iOS 8.3
Do I need to change to the App store version? If so, how do I do this as the only option on the App store is to purchase again.
Look forward to hearing from you

You do need the Mac App Store version of 1P5 in order to use iCloud to sync your 1P data. Take a look at this knowledge base article.
If you bought the AgileBits store version within the last 30 days you can ask for a refund to enable you to buy the Mac App Store version. If you did buy within that time frame please let us know and someone will let you know what you need to do.

Hi @xbl4814,
As Stephen_C mentioned, we can refund your purchase if you bought it from us within 30 days. However, the discounted upgrade price is something we can only offer in our own store, and not in the Mac App Store, so it would still be full price there.
I checked in our sales records and for the email address tied to your forum handle and didn't find any results, so if you would like a refund, please either reply to the receipt email we sent you, or send an email to support+forum@agilebits.com and let us know what email address you used when you bought the license. When you send the email, it would also be helpful if you'd include a link to this forum thread. Thanks! :)

Hi Vee and Stephen
Appreciate your replies and I have just emailed support+forum@agilebits.com requesting the refund and away to purchase the OSX version from the App store.
I see a few people have fallen foul of this and it might be an idea to make it clearer on your own website that there is this very distinct difference between the two version.
Kind regards

Very much appreciate your prompt response and I now have the App store version installed and everything synced across multiple laptops, desktops and mobile devices! Well impressed.

Just an FYI... I've been using 1Password for a long time (v2 or 3??) and recently downloaded the update, 1Password
Version 5.3 (530029) Mac App Store, and lost the ability to sync via iCloud on my Mac. My iPhone and iPad were in sync, but from the dropdown menu in 1Password Sync Preferences; iCloud was no longer an option.I backed up to another drive on my MBP and then uninstalled the browser extensions, 1Password and then removed both folders under ~/Library/Application_Support/ (there was "1Password" and also "1Password 4"). Reinstalled from the App Store and it defaulted to iCloud sync upon first launch. The selection is now there from the Sync dropdown menu also. Then I merged my local backup and now all devices have all passwords that were being created when my MBP was not syncing with iCloud.
The attached image is of version 5.3 Sync prefs before the surgery.
Just thought you should know ;)

Hi @aEisenberg,
It seems that while you might have originally purchased from Apple's Mac App Store you have been running our AgileBits Store version. The clue is in the Updates tab in that screenshot. The Mac App Store doesn't have an updates tab because all updates are handle via Apple. So removing the application and re-downloading from the App Store would cure it.
I do have one question though. The removal of the
1Password 4
folder would mean you removed the vault that was in use in the AgileBits Store version of 1Password for Mac. If you had any items that were only in your Mac vault they would have been in there. Given it's likely you moved the folder to Trash and that it may still exist it would seem prudent to ask now if there is anything in that vault that you might have needed to keep that wasn't stored on one of your iOS devices.0 -
@littlebobbytables by using the "show files" button on Backup prefs, I checked where the backups where being stored locally (1Password4) before copying that folder to another drive and deleting the folders on my boot drive. Then was able to restore local content from the other drive. Thanks for the follow up though! Oddly enough, even though the backups were stored in 1Password4, the app opened up as 1Password5 and that's what the build info was that I retrieved from the "About 1Password" and pasted into my previous post. Hence my post here. Some oddities going from the store purchase to the app store version. Sorry for nay confusion.

Hi @aEisenberg,
Thanks for letting us know about using the backup files! That's no problem, littlebobbytables just wanted to be sure you weren't losing any data by deleting the 1Password 4 folder.
Oddly enough, even though the backups were stored in 1Password4, the app opened up as 1Password5
The "1Password 4" folder is the data directory for both versions 4 and 5 from the AgileBits Store. 1Password 5 was essentially written as an update for version 4 so it uses the same application files, folders, backups, etc.
In case you're curious, in the Mac App Store version, the data is stored in ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/ (this location is related to how apps from the Mac App Store work).
that's what the build info was that I retrieved from the "About 1Password" and pasted into my previous post.
My only guess is that perhaps you had Mac App Store and AgileBits Store versions of 1Password installed at the same time, so the "About" window and Preferences weren't actually from the same app. But either way, it doesn't seem to be a problem now, and sounds like you have it all sorted out, so it's certainly nothing to worry about. :)
If you need anything else, please let us know!
