1password mini - ability to change icon color to indicate active/logged in?
Hi: Can I change** icon color of the menu bar item of 1password mini to indicate **logged in?
say black say key hole becomes a shade of green ? Want something not totally in my face, but a visual queue to communicate the mini is active/logged in.
Also, other UI items on 1password mini that I experience as counter-intuitive
1. I do not find it quick and easy to get to this agile supports forum (FYI - I love LOVE the improvements you have made to your support forum content and support forum design and even tool used. It is noticable and significantly more enjoyable to post. Well Done + Thankyou!). Perhaps ability to navigate to agilebits support forum from 1password mini and set my preferred view e.g. mac or something else.
2. 1password mini version number. Can we please be shown version information of 1password mini in a new menu item, about me. 1password mini after all is a separate application to 1password desktop application and has its own service in Activity Monitor.
3. Using 1password mini dropdown, has option to open 1password desktop by cog/then menu bar option "1password". I want to see the 1password desktop application icon here as its not intuitive to me that is the link to navigate to the desktop application. There is a few bits to 1password (the desktop, the mini, the fx addon and the one.password.sqlite database that is not stored in the Fx profile). For mini, I keep forgetting and launching by navigating to applications folder. 1password is not on dock as the dock is used for apps core to my work.
4. 1password mini menu bar items, the "mini" application items, require you to click the "cog" to get to them. That is not standard apple logic for me. Goes against the norm to what I am use to. Typically we click right click on a menu item or hover to get the application items. So perhaps an option to show them in below the "favourites", that are shown.
5. 1password mini application shows me folders I have recorded in 1Password Desktop Applicaiton. Could we perhaps have a preference option to say do not show in mini
Thankyou for considering this feedback.

Hi @helppls,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your feedback & feature requests! We're always listening to what our users would like and looking into ways to improve 1Password. Although I can't promise anything, I can certainly pass your suggestions along to our developers.
To address a few of your specific questions/requests:
Can I change** icon color of the menu bar item of 1password mini to indicate **logged in?
There's not currently an option to do that, but I can let our developers know you'd like to have that feature.
I do not find it quick and easy to get to this agile supports forum
I'm sorry you're having trouble getting to our forums! It might help to create a bookmark in your web browser. Or if you've saved a Login item for our forums, you can use that to quickly open the forums and log in. You can also open the main 1Password app and go to Help > Discussion Forums. There's also a link to our forums right at the bottom of agilebits.com and support.1password.com (as well as on other pages of our website). Perhaps we can put the option in 1Password mini as well, but I wanted to let you know about some of the other ways to find our forums, in case it helps. I'm happy you like the recent changes here! :)
Can we please be shown version information of 1password mini in a new menu item
The version number of 1Password mini is the same as the overall 1Password app. So if you go to 1Password > About 1Password in the main app, the version number shown there is the same as mini.
Using 1password mini dropdown, has option to open 1password desktop by cog/then menu bar option "1password". I want to see the 1password desktop application icon here as its not intuitive to me that is the link to navigate to the desktop application.
Now that you know the option for "Open 1Password" opens the main app, would an additional icon still be helpful? It's certainly something we can consider, although keep in mind that icon is used for 1Password in general, and doesn't necessarily symbolize the main app specifically.
1password mini menu bar items, the "mini" application items, require you to click the "cog" to get to them. That is not standard apple logic for me. Goes against the norm to what I am use to.
The main purpose of 1Password mini is to provide easy/quick access to your data (Logins, Credit Cards, and so on). Therefore, your data is what you have immediate access to when you open mini, and the settings are in their own submenu.
1password mini application shows me folders I have recorded in 1Password Desktop Applicaiton. Could we perhaps have a preference option to say do not show in mini
It certainly seems possible, and I'm sure other users would find that useful as well. Like your other requests, I'd be happy to send them to our developers.
Aside from those things, I hope you're enjoying 1Password. If you need anything else, just let us know! :)

Thankyou Drew_AG for such a wonderful reply. I appreciate you taking the time to go through all my items. It is greatly appreciated.
Two replies to your inline questions
1. Yes, I would still desire Icon. I am highly visual and having a login line with no icon is inconsistent for me.
2. You say (sorry do not know how to do that fancy quoting you have kindly done above)

Which is the main bulk of what I use 1Password for. However an assumption is made, that this would be able to access here the thing you want to do quickly.
Sometimes you cannot and your forced to go to 1Password Desktop to do your "quick and easy thing"
e.g. currently to delete an entry requires you to go 1Password Desktop
e.g. currently to add a pdf file requires you to go to 1Password DesktopSo for me placement of the access point to 1Password Desktop at the very least be preference setting. I use it alot (though I wish I did not need to) but I do. So rather than 3 gestures, I want to go to mini and 1 click there. or maybe I could just double tap on the lovely big 1Password Icon that you see when you open mini, and it takes me to the Desktop. That would work for me!

You're very welcome @helppls! And thanks for the additional feedback.

e.g. currently to delete an entry requires you to go 1Password Desktop
e.g. currently to add a pdf file requires you to go to 1Password DesktopActually, both of those things are currently possible from 1Password mini. While viewing the item details in mini, click the Edit button at the bottom. You'll see a Move to Trash button at the bottom of the Edit window, and the bottom of the item details will have the option to add attachments (you might need to scroll down).
Hopefully that helps! Let us know if you need anything else. :)

Thankyou Drew_AG for you efforts. They are appreciated.
Add Attachments in the Mini
Great to know one can "drag and drop" attachments. Still tiny and fiddly but at least accessible. Thankyou!Move to Trash in the Mini
Great to know one can do "move to trash" from 1Password mini, but it is soo clunky and slow to get to the "move to trash".For me, this is a good example of poor UI design. The move to trash is in a place where the user has lost the context of why they wanted to delete in first place. They see a duplicate record (perhaps they hover over each to verify which is incorrect) then they want to do 1 gesture to delete.
In Agile 1Password case- First you have to anchor screen to tell it stay.. rather than it know by default if you open the darn dialogue of course you want it to stay...
- Next you have to pop into EDIT mode
- Then you have scroll/move your focus to the bottom
I get so frustrated with it at times (but it is better than desktop ugliness most of the time). In this situation the mini is as bad as navigating to the Desktop to do it. Its another fine example of who designed this 1Password Desktop and Mini. It does not operate as a OSX native, it always has things so far for me in the wierdest spot. So non-intutive so often... The more I use it the more I have this viewpoint. My viewpoint is especially frustrated as I see you guys win awards.. and I sit here thinking.. it is so non-OSX intutive.
Question: How many key strokes just to trash? Answer: Way too many.
We are so use to 1 gesture to trash from a list view (e.g. context held).- Drag drop to trash can.
- Either swipe the record and delete will appear, or
- right click and delete will appear or
- cmd and click record and delete will appear.
Not as Agile has designed. Please seriously review the application against OSX standards.
Desktop Feedback
I was in Desktop the other day and left it shaking my head, saying to myself, Agile really think this is intuitve, I must be from another planet!
1. I could not even add columns I wanted to see in display, let alone move what I wanted to see.
2. I could not drop to entire screen. Only to the fiddly little box.
3. When I clicked on a record it did not default to edit mode. Had to click the darn edit button. crikey..
All very counter-intutive to me. No wonder I do not like going to the Desktop. It reminds of the bad things about 1Password rather than the great things it does!. Which is alot e.g. Desktop did have lovely SMART folders to help me keep tidy. Nice!Thankyou for taking the time to read my feedback. It is appreciated.

I disagree with you on point 3. Quite often I want to look at a record but not edit it. In fact this is my most frequent use of the 1PW application. By the way, the 1PW behaviour is the same as the behaviour of Apple's contacts, so it seems a reasonable enough decision.

@danco ++ :)
@helppls, thanks again for the feedback, we appreciate it! We're always listening to what our users would like and looking into ways to improve our user experience. Although I can't promise anything, I can certainly pass your suggestions/feedback along to our developers.
One thing I wanted to mention is that 1Password mini is meant mainly as a way to quickly access your data (as well as communicate with the 1Password browser extension so you can save and/or fill data in certain web forms). It has many of the features of the main 1Password app, but it is not intended to be a replacement for it. Although certain features like editing and deleting items are possible in mini, it's often easier to do some of those things in the main app, and I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that. Simply put: 1Password mini is meant for convenient/quick access to your data, and the main 1Password app is meant for full functionality to organize and edit your data.
Now, having said that, there's certainly room for improvement in both mini and the main app, and many of the changes we've made over the years have been in response to customer feedback & suggestions. For example, we've added many keyboard shortcuts to 1Password mini to make it easier to use. In case you haven't see it, we have a list of keyboard shortcuts for both the main app and mini.
We love having customers who are passionate enough about 1Password that they're willing to take the time to send us such detailed feedback! It really helps us improve 1Password. If you need anything else, you know where to find us. ;)
