1Password for family
My wife and I each have iMacs on a home network. If I purchase 1Password from the Mac App Store can we both use it on our own Macs?

Yes, if:
- you both use the same Apple ID; or
- you are both using OS X Yosemite and have a family sharing arrangement.

I hope you found Stephen_C's response informative. If you have any questions arising from that please do ask

With the family sharing option would we both have our own copy of the app or would we share one copy and hence share the same "database"?

You could both have you own, independent copies of 1P if that's what you want.

Hi @martinliss,
To clarify, the 1Password app is not the same thing as the vault. The secure data is stored in a separate file on your computer, not inside the app.
With Family Sharing, you'd share one purchase/license, but each computer that has the app installed can have its own separate vault, unless you decide to sync or share your vaults.
Hopefully this reduces confusion rather than creating it, but let us know if you have any more questions. We're here to help. :)
