Hi @Carley,
You may very well have many questions even after reading that KB page.
To best advise it would help to know what version of OS X and iOS you are running on each machine and device. This could influence what version of 1Password you can run. Once we know what the latest version of 1Password is compatible with each of your Apple devices we can then construct the right setup for you.
If it's as simple as just making sure the contents of your vault in 1Password 3 is in 1Password 5 then the KB article may be all you need.
Keep us updated and if you do require further assistance we're here to help

Hi @Carley,
Perfect, with all your systems being up to date that means you can run the latest version of 1Password everywhere.
Now the two versions of 1Password you mentioned are both for the Mac. Is it that currently one of your Macs is running 1Password 3 and the other is running 1Password 5 or did you install 1Password 5 on the machine that used to run 1Password 3?
If you installed 1Password 5 on the machine that used to run 1Password 3 then you may have nothing to do at all. When you launch 1Password 5 for the first time it checks a couple of default locations to see if there is an existing vault. One of the locations it checks is the default vault location for 1Password 3. What it means is for anybody that upgraded from 1Password 3 to either 1Password 4 or 5 it should have appeared seamless.
The one scenario to be careful of is this. Say you installed and started using 1Password 5 but you also kept using 1Password 3. Then there is the possibility that there are items in your old vault that aren't in your new one. This we can help you with if this is the case.
If it's the case that you have one machine running 1Password 3 and want to move it to 1Password 5 then simply running 1Password 5 should be sufficient. There are some edge cases but they are unlikely.
If you simply see that you have two copies of the 1Password application on your machine and aren't sure then you may very well find all you need to do is move the older 1Password 3 application to the Trash. Again, if when you installed 1Password 5 you moved to only using it then it should be that there is nothing in the 1Password 3 vault that isn't already in 1Password 5 and you're safe in deleting the 1Password 3 application.
I've covered the general cases here. If you have any doubts then a little background can probably help us guide you better and we'll be happy to help
