1Password.agilekeychain file...or whatever is needed, is not appearing on Mac

After installing 1Password and Dropbox on a succession of 3 loaner MacBook Pro's from my university, 1Password seems not to sync on the most recent loaner. I can sync my iPhone with Dropbox (348 files), so I don't know what's up. Info online has not been helpful so far.

I do not have Selective Syncing set for my Dropox Personal account.

I've attached a JPG of the current Dropbox setup. This hierarchy has worked on 3 other MBPs, but not this one. Have I mistakenly renamed the 1Password folder? Is there another file maintenance step that would help?

Inside that folder is 1Password.html and a Data folder. in the folder is another folder, Default. Inside Default are, I presume, all 348 of the passwords or secure info files I use (.1password).

Is there a file or folder I'm missing?

What else might you recommend?

Thanks.

    Hi @greenmonkeyblue,

I'm sorry you're having some difficulty with Dropbox sync!

1Password seems not to sync on the most recent loaner.

Do you mean you aren't able to sync your vault from Dropbox to 1Password on the new loaner Mac at all, so you currently have an empty vault on that Mac (or are stuck in the setup)? Or do you mean the data is there, but changes you make to 1Password on your iPhone don't sync to that loaner Mac (or vice versa)?

If you were initially able to sync your vault from Dropbox to the loaner Mac, but changes after that aren't syncing, you should double-check the sync settings to make sure Dropbox sync is still enabled. From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, and click the Sync tab. That should show if Dropbox sync is enabled, and if it is set to sync with the correct 1Password.agilekeychain in Dropbox.

Info online has not been helpful so far.

I wonder if you've seen our Dropbox sync troubleshooting guide? If not, please go through that as it should help to solve most common Dropbox sync problems. If Dropbox sync still isn't working after that, please let us know, and we'll continue from there. Thanks!

Went through the troubleshooting strategies. Looks like the problem right now is on the MacBook Pro (not iPhone) 1Password.

I got the following error message. Seems like an important file may not be working on the MBP:

    Tue May 19 18:37:41 2015| 530029 [APP:0x600000075240:] M applicationDidFinishLaunching: | Starting 1Password (AppStore) 5.3 #530029 built Mar 27 2015 20:48:57

"We tried to start '2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper' but it is not shown as running. We'll rely on SMLoginItemSetEnabled return value." ...could that be causing the problem. And if so, how do I correct it?

    Hi @greenmonkeyblue ,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, the logs that you shared don't really shed much light on the situation. We'll need some clarification from you to determine where things are getting tangled up. Let's go through this step by step:

    • What are you trying to accomplish here?
    • What precise steps are you taking? (Please include details such as what you expect to happen at each stage, and what actually does happen.)

The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get to the bottom of this.
