Portable App Version

Is there a portable app version in development? I would like to see this be made available for both Mac and Windows, both of which I use.

There are times I am using a computer to which I don't want to install apps or don't have installation capabilities so this would be a nice to have.

    Hi @nappy_d,

Have you tried the 1PasswordAnywhere feature? If you sync your 1Password data via Dropbox, then you can use 1PasswordAnywhere, which allows you to view your 1Password data by logging into your Dropbox account from a web browser.

We have additional information about 1PasswordAnywhere here: Can I access 1Password while away from home/traveling?

I hope that helps, but please let us know if you have more questions! :)

Thanks for this. Be nice if I did not have to login to Dropbox to get the the html UI.

Any chance for a Chrome plugin?

    Hi @nappy_d,

Be nice if I did not have to login to Dropbox to get the the html UI.

Using Dropbox is usually the best way to use 1PasswordAnywhere, but not the only way. If you have a local copy of the .agilekeychain (which you can also generate using the Folder sync option), you may be able to open the 1Password.html file from a web browser. The problem is that modern browsers have local file restrictions which prevent 1PasswordAnywhere from working that way, but some browsers have ways to get around those restrictions. You can find more information about that here: Local file restrictions in 1PasswordAnywhere

Any chance for a Chrome plugin?

Actually we've had a 1Password extension for Chrome for years, you can find instructions to install it here: Installing the 1Password Web Browser Extension

If you need any help with that, you know where to find us! ;)

    Hi Drew_AG,

I hope it's okay that I post in this thread, as my question is related to 1PasswordAnywhere.

I am syncing my 1Password file with Dropbox, and I can see that it keeps updating files in the 1Password.agilechain\data\default folder.
However, the 1Password.html file is from 25-05-2015 and is not updating for some reason.

Is there anything I should do to make sure it updates when the rest of the 1Password.agilechain updates?

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Joachim

@joachimaugust: 1Password.html does not contain your data, so it will only change when the vault is created or when it is updated due to improvements. Are you missing information in 1PasswordAnywhere, or simply suspicious because you expected the HTML to change as well?

@brenty: Thanks for the quick reply. I just double checked every category, and I got confused because my Mac OS X client says "All items" [count] whereas 1PasswordAnywhere only [counts] "logins" in the first category.
Everything is fine and I don't need more support.

    Have a nice day.

    Thanks.

@joachimaugust: Whew! Awesome! That's what I expected, but I'm glad to have confirmation. It sounds like you should be all set, but don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything else. We're here for you! :chuffed:
